Now try this...

Now whaddya think about the film?

I think that its going to be a great riot!
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

Me too Aeries!

She looks modern and detailed but still has the lines of the original plus fits in better with lineage.

I'm not doubting that the story will be great and exciting and I'll certainly watch it several times when it's out but I just get annoyed at them changing everything we see as fimiliar and hold dear just to try and make some more money from non trek fans.

As Scotty says it's like the first time you fall in love and I think we all loved the 1701 for the same reasons he did.

I apologise for my previous outburst and I hope the film does well now as it may see the revival of Star Trek.

Sorry for the double post.

I take back everything I've said about the film! The trailer as amazing! Simon Pegg brilliant! And my favourite line of the trailer 'Buckle up'!

Right first off I don't want to sound like I'm trashing the movie (I'll wait till I see it in the full if I feel it deserves it).

I still Don't think the Enterprise feels right (even though I like the design).

What the trailer twice now, first time thought it was thelma and louise till "What is your name"

But other than the new "old girl" being built on Earth I liked it. Even showed the wife a total non-trekie said she'd like to see it (but only if I kept my moaning to a dull roar).

So bring it on and let it be judged in the cinemas of the world.
Whatever knocks us back, can only make us stronger.

Am I the only one that thinks the space battle scenes in the trailer look like the one at the beginning of Star Wars: Episode III?

I mean, just compare the two.
Trailer:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBQyjrRgE4c
Star Wars: (skip to a two minutes in) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBQyjrRgE4c

And don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a much more epic space battle, it's been a long time coming. That's probably the only reason I REALLY like DS9, that epic dominion battle.
The upside about the new Trek is that it doesn't have Hayden Christensen. I still say that ANY role that Hayden Christensen played could have been done much better if they got James Franco. HE SHOWS EMOTION!

After all the little bits of leaked info we have read,
All the gushing about how awesome the acting is,
The pictures released by Paramount,
And NOW an official trailer, one thing still escapes me..
Where is Leonard?!

All we have had is a voice over from him, and we know he makes an appearance sometime in the movie.
When i take this all into account i cant help to think his role in the movie will be very small.
Im no marketing expert (obviously) but you would think having a brief appearance of Mr. Nimoy once again playing the roll of Mr. Spock (Perhaps one of the most famous scifi characters ever) in the trailer would catch a lot of peoples attention.
But where the hell is he?

Why do i get the feeling his role was just put in the film to attract the old fans and doesn't serve any real purpose or depth?
If this is the case, i will not be a very happy chappy.

Its as epic as the teaser. Poor Kelvin gets owned. The free-falling/planetary drill sceen looks like it will be intense.

EDIT:Im curious now as to the reason(and which planet) Nero's giant drill is being used(which appearently is connected to his ship...some say his "gold. organic and squid like" ship).
All hail the messiah!

He is using it on Vulcan from what i have read,
The reason being to destroy it i guess?

I have tried very hard to like the trailer, and tried equally hard to get excited about this film.. but I can't.  It is not Trek anymore.  If this was a new space movie, not meant to be related to ST at all, it might look cool.. but this is not my TREK. :(  Looks like Trek died with Voyager. :(  (Weeps in corner)

I don't look at films and think "oh its Star Trek, but Star Trek died with Voyager so it must be crap", I think about the quality. Seeing the new Enterprise (now matter how shit it is) gives me a little thrill, like seeing the TOS Enterprise in the last episode of ST: Enterprise. Okay, we've all had our arguments about Enterprise but that is not the point. No matter what Enterprise, shit or good, it will always give me that little thrill seeing it. Nothing will change that.

I really, really.. Want to see this movie now. I wish they hadn't moved the release date to May. If I remember correctly, they didn't move it because of Production time or something like that but because they think it will do better in May. But since they moved it anyways, they will probably beable to polish it more.

That should be the Enterprise. It's got awesomeness written all over it.

Better look at all the fancy trailers. Despite everything, I'm liking the new Enterprise. WHY?

Between this and the JJPrise, I don't know which one I like least... at first I would have prefered the one that you linked to, whereas now that some time has passed, I think I prefer JJ's.

The movie actually looks quite good. Whether it will be a good Trek movie is an entirely different matter.

I agree, I'll go in a movie goer first, and a Star Trek fan 2nd.

Then again, I never watched a lot of TOS, so it probably won't bother me that much.
