I don't want to play it, I just want to try to get one of the models (the Kazon Predator / Kazon Carrier) so I can get its volume, as I've done with other ships here:

what's the volume anyway ???

Sorry, no offense intended . . . as I said, I don't care about the modpack.

It's just that I've searched the internet for better than 12 hours in the past couple of days looking for the old Klingon Academy Kazon Predator (which seems to have disappeared completely) and in the process kept seeing in-game pictures of the model you guys have had for years.

I already have the capacity to make use of BC models (some of the ships on my list are derived from information obtained from BC .nifs) . . . unlike those who want to actually play it, I'm just hoping for a few minutes with the .nif file so I can import the model to Blender, export to .3ds, import to SketchUp, and use the volume calc plugin I have there to make use of the model.

If whoever made it would rather not give away the .nif (which I presume has playable data in it), any good mesh format other than .max (which I cannot deal with) would suffice.  I'm not even interested in the textures.

Thank you for your time.

Well, then I suggest you to speak with JB06 about the model ;)

It's probably best if we leave this to Jimmy to sort out. It's not really a good thing to be 'backseat moderating'. I should know, I've done it a few times and payed everytime for it.

We should leave it to the BCC staff members.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

perhaps at this point, the best thing would be to let this thread rest until Jb06 or Limey have any input...
DSG2k, the pack wont be ready for a while...  it could be a long while, it could be a week...  youll have to wait until the JL crew is complete with their project at which point youll (like everyone else) have access to any model within the pack; you could PM Jb or Limey, but i think theyll also mention to stand by and hold on until they are ready to release the pack...  it is all about patience...

Indeed Jimmy is correct, you'll only be able to access once the pack is complete which may be this year lol depending on how busy we are.

Well we do have some updates to post soon, just like i said we've all been extremely busy with life.

Any testers which read this, there will be a new beta once it's uploaded to bcs-tng.

It was asked a while ago how large is it so far, and with both ships and systems it's currently 412MB zipped and 1.22GB unzipped. That's still not being 100% .

That's pretty amazing.

It's probably been said and re-said elsewhere in the thread, but these star systems are all GCv2.0 compatible, with correct positioning, right?

Indeed they are, GC 2.0 is a necessity as the DQP has some 3 new travel methods included within the pack

So that means that if you don't have GC 2.0 your pack won't at all work?

Just been testing out the new ring planet system, it's the Vhnori Homeworld.

Its the episode when kim accidently gets transported through a subspace vacuole their homeworld.

It will eventually have the atmosphere glow, just haven't got round to adding it yet.

Thanks

to bad we can't make planet rings out of nebulae... get a KA kinda of feel.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Well, you could, but it would be a lot of small circular nebulae.

And would murder most rigs.

That looks gorgeous, the surface texture looks bumped!

A critique on the rings, they might benefit from smoother transitions from one ring colour to the next. And I think there's some law of physics at play regarding the minimum distance the rings can be from the surface of the atmosphere, they seem too close - to my eye.

he's right, take a look at saturn, the rings reach a point where the particles would fall into the atmosphere if they were any lower.

I was just beginning to wonder about that...:P Looks awesome anyway. :)

It depends entirely on the size and speed of the particles/rocks. If something is travelling fast enough, it can orbit as close to another object as it wants.

I'm not saying I disagree that they could be further, I'm just saying it's sound from a physics perspective :P
