Might want to edit the thread title to be a little more appreciative of LC's work. It doesn't sound all that respectful to "Throw it in the bin". Just a thought.

Looks good so far, glad to hear this will enable all the variants to be made.

Klingon Academy now works on XP/Vista/Win 7 thanks to one dude's patches, click here for details. I highly recommend it!

He said the JLS LC Intrepid, as in the 30k or so polys I added and the textures, have been thrown in the bin. It was not intended as derogatory comment about LC's work.

I'm not trying to start any heated debates here, but if Bren perceived it as coming off as a touch disrespectful, then its possible others will.  I did when I saw it a while back but didn't say anything, which is why I cookied Bren for standing up.  In the interests of maintaining a positive and respectful community, perhaps it would be a good idea to rest on the side of caution?  We especially don't want to accidentally disrespect one of the grandfathers of BC modding.  Let's not forget that LC laid a great deal of the foundation of all the things we do these days.  I think we'd all hope that future modders would go to at least the minimal lengths to ensure that we are all respected for what we do?

It's something quick and friendly that would probably go a long way.  Just a thought.

Gotta put my 2 cents in. This was all started by a misreading of a statement or lack of noticing "JLS" in front of it. Technically speaking, I could get insulted by someone saying "Prime is not a bad modeller" by not reading the third word. Just an example.

Haven't really been following all the projects going on as things have been hectic, but I've always been looking forward to this pack. I look forward to the day I can dust off BC and do some exploration of the Delta Quadrant. ;)

One question, what's your goal polycount for the new Voyager?

OK guys, get back in line. I've been in this kinda situation. Sort it out over PM or MSN.

I do have a question for JLS. The Malon freighter ships, how are you going to do the waste anti-matter? I was just thinking of something like having invisible pulses with green smoke trail but...well, I think you catch my drift.

Just use the same thing as Venting plasma?

There's that to. But the waste damaged Voyager's shields.

Putting plasma venting out of the ship will be easy, similar to the comet in ds9fx... as for the radiation against the shields, i might ask sovvy if that can be done.

There will be an update eventually, we've just been busy with some projects which will be released soon. ;)

Whatever is needed to give enough detail and smoothness. It's the only ship that we are not setting any poly limit at all for.

I can understand why people whine about it, but I don't see why we all have to play with restricted models and textures. ;)

Anyway, I'm sure it'll look fantastic.

i will chime in here for one quick second, and i find myself agreeing with Bren and DJ...
originally i felt the thread title may not have been the best choice in wording, but then it slipped my mind...  but reading these posts, reinforces how i felt originally...  while im sure no disrespect was meant, and no negativity was meant; nevertheless, i am going to rename the thread title...

Just a thought, you might be able to find an answer in the stock scripts for that.  Think how the Vesuvi Dust Cloud drains your shields (it does it in SP and QB).  Maybe you can duplicate that affect with the Malon ship (or maybe system if you're doing that one).  Just an idea.

Isn't that linked with all nebulae in the game, couldn't you just have like a 'roaming' nebula 'attached' to the Malon craft?

It might be difficult to create a mobile nebula, but then again you never know, with what's been accomplished anything could be possible...it would be cool though!

You could even have moving spacial anomalies then with that kinda accomplishment...

Plasma Trails would be the best bet you might be able to do something with proximity detectors so that and ship that gets within a certain distance of the ship receives shield damage.
