Skinning and damaging tool and FTech
« on: May 10, 2008, 09:55:50 AM »
Ok, So I've added all of LC's ships to quickbattle, only problem is, when I go to warp into another system Skinning and Damaging tool doesn't wanna work.  MLeo or someone who could help me, would i have to use the scripts/ships file for the SDT?  Or am I doing something wrong with the ship plugins?  kthnxbai.

Warp shouldn't reload a ship. Meaning that SDT shouldn't be called.

But even if it did, it should just re-apply the textures, which it can't because they are already swapped (meaning that it doesn't do anything).

How exactly do you mean that SDT doesn't want to work?
And how does FoundationTechnologies fit into this?

Nacelles, the submodels feature of FTech. sorry I was a bit vague as there was a bad storm approaching lol.

Basically what I'm trying to ask is if I'm doing something wrong with my ships plugin on LC's Intrepid.  I've added the SDT to place the Bellerophon, Voyager, and Intrepid into quickbattle, and how FTech is involved is the moving-nacelle-before-warp feature with the SubModels.  And when I enter warp, the registries all go blank, as well as when I exit warp.  I'm not sure if it's something with my scripting or not.  I'll post screenies when I get back from my Mother's Day Breakfast with the family (We're takin mom out for breakfast :D)

Ah, that is because the SubModels use multiple models (ie. multiple ship plugins), you will have to change each of them. If I remember correctly, the LC Intrepid models uses 4 models, normal, out of warp, one for each nacelle, and the warp configuration model. So 4 different plugins to change.

Ok, i was pretty sure of that.  so I went into each of the plugins (not just now, but when I started) and added the scripting for the SDT...and I have the problem.  I'm gonna package them up really quick and edit this post to add them, maybe I missed something :).

Roger

EDIT:  Here's all the scripts in .rar format...hope to find out where I mucked up :P

Yes I also tried to replace the registry on submodles used in the warp sequence, but it didn't worked. When I loaded all the submodels ingame by simply adding them to quick battle, the new textures succesfully loaded. So SDT can't load the new textures into the submodels, if it is because it is an ingame cinematic or not, I do not know.
