Wiley, I hate to ask but since you posted in my thread... :P

Can you do a USS Righteous and a USS Hood registry for the Excelsior class?

Also, DROOL on the Connie, wow! Wowie Wow wow wow. Throw in a new Miranda model for effect and I'll be on cloud nine! :D. I'll have to gift you for that wip.

Once more you beat the crap out of my modeling skills. I'm immensely impressed. What's the count on that sexy beast?

Also, cookie to keep you going, friend. :]

30.1k polys, and I haven't added the phaser emitters or the saucer rcs thrusters yet.

I plan to have the Excelsior use IDmap swapping, but I haven't started on that yet.

Wow. Well, I'll be blunt... it's worth every poly so far. Keep up the excellent work, bro. Another quick question if I may: Are you planning to model in the arboretum? Or will you be leaving that to some clever texturing? :)

You make a good point.  I'll see if I can model it in (if I have no serious mesh errors) and maybe add a few trees inside it too- that's never been done before.

I don't foresee there being any issues if it's done properly. I can't remember for the life of me now who it was who was attempting to model it in before now... They mentioned having issues but I'm almost certain they were easily fixable by welding a couple verts and playing with the smoothing settings. Anyways, I'll stop this back-and-forth chatter and simply wish you the best of luck that I can. ;) Keep up the excellent work, bro.

WoW...two great connies...curious to see which one will emerge victorious...and only one modeller ever attempted to model the Arboretum and it was P81 way back in the day...of course his model then was spectacular..but can't hold a candle to this one...

I thought it was Khaliban who modeled an Arboretum into a Connie Refit.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

Yep, but both didn't include trees. :)  Adding the interior room, and a few dozen basic trees, brings the polycount to 33.6k.

I think that only Khaliban's had the arboretum modelled in.

Looks great there Wiley, keep it up.

Maybe it is just me but I sense a trend here. First I make a JJPrise then Wiley follows suit, I start a spacedock then Wiley follows suit! And I make a Connie re-fit and Wiley follows suit. I'm sensing a pattern here. I'm looking forward to his Phobos lol.

Seriously Good work on the Connie, I hate you :D

For the most complex shapes, FFD modifiers will be your friend.  Always build parts in pieces and don't connect them together until you are pleased with the final shape.  I plan to make the other TMP ships that use the same Connie components if I have time.

It would most likely screw your poly count up but you welcome to use my botanical garden mesh to stick in her.

Thanks, but I'll just texture the floor, and use that picture for reference and change the position of trees to fit.  Plus, it's such a small area, you won't have a lot of detail there anyway.
