The secondary hull is a pain in the *** to build.  Anyone have any ideas of how to build it?

QFT!

I've yet to actually use one for a full Trek mesh, but I've been doing some research into alternative modelling methods recently, and that was awesome!

I think I'm ready for texturing. :)  The impulse area was inspired by MadKoiFish's version.

EDIT: Images removed because the ship has been released and to save up on space.

She's looking SA-WEET!
I think a Kelvin styled texture would be fantastic!
^That's not a request, it's just something I'd like to see. Might do it myself after both the Kelvin and E are released.

Wiley, you've made me fall in love with the JJ Enterprise.

While there's no telling how close that is until more images are released, I think that's at least a good 1.0 for ya Wiley.  Good job. :D

EDIT: One quick thing, you might make the nacelle pylon curve back a little more as it attaches to the engineering hull.  Sweep it back flush with the edge of the shuttlebay, like on the schematic.  Also, it may just be me, but the bussard assembly seems off, but I can't tell for sure.  For the most part, it matches up what we've seen.

I have as well, actually. Spline cadges look rather promising; I'll be testing that method out later tonight. :]

I swear it looks wy different to the first one. Why the yellow bussards?

I'd guess that's a temporary coloration.

That is just the temporary object color.  The bussards will definitely NOT be yellow.  I am texturing the ship now, and I might post pictures later today/tonight.

I made mine from a still from the teaser trailer then changed the colour to make it look powered up. Here is the original image.

Very interesting...especially the NX-1700.  It could indeed work as a prototype Constitution.  Very nice.

Some more from the same artist (he's the guy that made the specs Wiley used for his most recent version of the XI Connie)

it looks like the image from the trailer shows the ship fully powered and the bussard is still not illuminated...I wonder if it will always be dark?

This is looking really good so far...not sure what kind of HP will be on it but I am sure that will be worked out just fine.

I already have those additional side view variants by JudeXavier.  With the bussards, they probably only light up in-warp, like the TMP Enterprise.  Also, comments on the new Trek XI Enterprise should go to a different thread and not this one.

Exactly.  Moving back towards the topic, it seems to me that the bussard collectors in the trailer seem to have a faint blue-ish glow.  Maybe you can do something like that?  I can't wait to see what the textures look like Wiley. :)
