I haven't had much to update.  Life has been pretty depressing for me.  Bones if you're still interested in texturing the Norway and the Sabre, let me know :) I'll send you the Norway as soon as I can.  I'm gonna work on the Steamrunner when I get home from work, so be on the lookout for more updates
Same here I barely make any progress on my projects but I'll see what can be done tho now to quote Khan : "Time is the luxury you don't have..." (or something like that :D ) in my case that's perfectly true :(

I've been working on this, and a decal sheet for my AMT/Ertl Enterprise E LOL.  So work has been going slowly on this :) But it's getting there.  Next thing on my list is trying to cut the aztecing off the edges of the Saucer of the Sovereign and put in a line for the sensor strip :).  That's gonna be a hard one lol.  Steamrunner is on hold till I properly learn how to model phasers, which requires me to block a number of people on MSN so I can talk with Aeries :P (namely my ex and her crew)

Sorry Jimmy, at least it's my own thread instead of someone elses.  I really don't mind the spam, but for you buddy, I'll keep it clean :D.

I haven't had a chance to get on MSN, as it's acting up on me, so Aeries I hope I can talk with ya soon about modeling phasers for all the ships (Norway, Sovereign, and Steamrunner)

much obliged - however, i would ask that about any thread that is not in the FreePost forum lol ;)
if someone didnt jump in to "intervene", it would become too common-place where threads all start to drift very offtopic and pages would go by where the topic becomes less than remotely about the original purpose of the thread :P

Well, as of next month I'm going to be moving, I hate this crap.  So what i'm trying to do is save everything to CD so I can work on this with my (ugh) laptop.  I may eventually buy a wireless mouse for it and do what I can with the models.  Right now I'm modeling on the bottom saucer details that need to be there which will add about a few hundred more poly's to the entire mesh, if I can get on MSN Aeries is gonna help me with phasers for the sovereign steamrunner and norway.  I'm taking artistic liscensing for the Steamrunner and Norway as I can't get any good references to the phasers on the bottom of the saucer.

Just gimme a holler when you can, or even just PM/email me. Due to a PM I just got, though, I will be even busier than normal [is this possible? :S] with another project [which makes... what? four in total now?]. I will, however, do my absolute best to try to help you out. Best luck buddy.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I just haven't really been motivated to do anything with this the last couple of days :(.

I know how you feel.  a few days ago, I felt the same way, of course, then, I had nothing to do, so no one really cared.  Instead of trying to do what I was too upset to do, I decided instead to write music, and stand and wait.
"'They also serve, those who only stand and wait' -John Milton"
-Miguel Diaz, quoting Milton in BC single player (hehehe, couldn't wait to quote someone quoting someone else...maybe that line from Milton quoted someone before him?)

anyway, to return to the topic again, you're not alone.  we all know how you're feeling, having been there at one time or another.  have fun with your project, Eclipse, have fun finding a motivation.

I may end up using my laptop for this.  I'm having a hard time placing the windows on the Saucer of the Sovereign.  I'm doing the best I can, but the rotations just don't seem to fit right.  Anyone have any good tips?

Jeez I didn't think texturing the portholes for the secondary hull would be tedious...I'm having to redo them over and over to get the proper spacing lol.  But the sovvy is still in works...I'm alternating between Steamrunner and Sovereign when I have the time to do this.  I might push the release date further than the two year mark to account for everyday life things :S.  That is unless I get a few people involved in helping me with texturing and hardpointing.  Bones you still in for texturing the Norway?

UPDATE:  I've gotten a few portholes worked out on the secondary hull, they should be correctly sized, and I'm working on getting those finished, I should have them done by late this evening :)  Here's a starter photo :D

Is it me or is the secondary hull too thin in that last picture? The saucer looks too bulky compared to it.
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

It might be, considering this is CG's model, and he did say something to that effect a while back.  While I wish I could, I can't fix this because my skills at modeling are limited, I'm still in the process of learning how to model.  About the only thing I did was make ID maps on the saucer nacelle and secondary hull.

EDIT:  Here's a side view of the ship, if anyone wants to help me fix that (if being the case of the sec hull being bony), I'd be happy to hear advice.

So, I was fiddling around with this today, and I noticed that now I'm having a slight issue with the Speculars.

In essence, when I have them on, the glows on the ID glow are brighter than the rest of the ship.

To answer some questions that I know will be raised.

Yes, I checked the specular map, and no there is no alpha.

I'm not sure whether it's the plugin or not.
