I'll give it a try, but it only happens when I have the specular highlights turned on.  It's normal when they're off.

NanoFX known error. Hence the "Bright Glow" fix.

but why just the ID? shouldn't that apply to all alpha maps?

Here's a shot to let you know what I'm talking about

It just started this when I made the ship plugin file...

Looks...ok to me. Side by side of on/off would be more helpful.

Nacelles and the ID, but look at the front of the ship in both pictures, they're the same brightness pretty much.  as well as the bridge area.  I'm really starting to think it's this piece of crap computer...I'm going to try my laptop and see if I get the same results.

actualy its a faulty specular map... when u make a specular map u should make all the windows PURE blak.. this isnt really a bug when a lightsource shines on a surface iot makes it brighter thats the whole idea of specular maps when u make something shine when its already illuminated it makes it go over the top this can EASELY be fixed with some PROPER spec maps x]

If that was the case, the same issue should have been occurring on his laptop.

Yep, it would be the case lol.  But yeah all my windows ARE blacked out :).  I've even blacked out the windows for the CG Sovereign (Which reminds me CG, if you come back and read this?  Make sure you put some windows in on your secondary hull of the next release ;), It was very tedious job making them from scratch.)

More updates to come, right now I'm working on making the registries so I can get those done and completed.  I may re-edit the alpha channels for a more CG feel to it :S

If you want to tell if your specs are working properly, DJ's Century and Galaxy have great ones. Go to the Artrus or Kronos system and if whenever there is a Sun nearby onscreen, the hull should light up with individual plating.

All in all, bring on the lovely registries! I think a few should vary inbetween the late 70,000's and early 80,000 thousands. But it's your choice, I am just offering an idea.

Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

lol I'm using CG's names that he came up with for my pack :).  There are quite a few 70,000 and a few 80,000's believe me :D

And I just use Deep Space to check my spec's...

It's not perfect that system. It is good but I find the darker the ship (which the Artrus and Kronos systems can do v. well), the better the specs come up. Just my advice.

Ok,, I have the registries done for now (until I edit the Alpha Maps, which will be simple :D)  they go in this order

U.S.S. Columbia NCC-81712
U.S.S. Enterprise (of course) NCC-1701-E
U.S.S. Independence NCC-80346
U.S.S. Kyoto (will NOT overwrite the Kyoto in BR32 and El's Intrepid pack) NCC-81531
U.S.S. Nimitz NCC-81014
U.S.S. Republic NCC-79117
U.S.S. Sovereign (you guys know the registry on that one :P)
U.S.S. Vigilant NCC-78151

Hope this satisfies your taste for a ship pack with more realistic names :P

What kind of shuttles will the Sovs be carrying?
Calvin grows up to be Frazz. The logical continuation of this is, of course, that Frazz then grows up to be Edward Norton's character from Fight Club. And thus, all four of these characters are gods.Let's go one more step. Calvin grows up to be Jeremy, who grows up to be Frazz, who grows up to be "Tyler Durden," while Suzie grows up to be Haruhi Suzumiya; since Kyon becomes The Doctor, this leads to the inescapable conclusion that after the end of Fight Club, Calvin becomes Captain Jack.

I imagine that Type 11's would be the "Correctamundo" answer. Anything else is up to the creator.

I might go with the Type 11's and a couple of other shuttles.  Type 9's as well.  Are there any other decent type 9's out there?
