Nah...JB did a good job on CG's sovereign :) and besides this isn't exactly a new sovvy.  It's CG's very first Sovereign model the ol' Hawkeye model...I just added ID Maps (an extensively modified CG ID Map), new textures.  And now I'm doing what I'm doing to the bottom of the saucer :)

EDIT:  Although I have thought of making a Nem Sovereign pack if JB would allow me LOL

Ok, I'm working on another project at the moment that will be separate from everything else...

I'm trying my hands at modeling for once, and I want to get this right.  Since CaptainRussell has pretty much disappeard off the face of the planet (he might appear every once in a blue moon and I just don't notice he's online) I'm going to try my hands at the Luna Class Titan.

Keep in mind, I am a beginner when it comes to modeling, so if she's not right, let me know LOL.  However I'm planning on this to be no more than 13,000 polies, and I'm considering doing two main 2048x2048 textures and an ID map for the entire thing.

I'm also asking the experts for advice and guidance, because I really would love to be more than just a texturer.  And I realize that it's mostly trial and error.

I will have pictures to come shortly, as I'm stuck at the moment on a problem with the Luna Saucer (For the life of me I can't figure out how to make her eggshaped like Torangeau's pictures).  If anyone has suggestions please let me know :)

EDIT:  because I made the mistake of saying less than 13,000 when I meant no more than.

Best of luck to ya!  We could use a higher res Titan.  One little hint, don't make the saucer completely round, at symmetrical points in the front hemisphere of the saucer there's flattened sections.  Kinda hard to point out though, don't have reference in front of me.

EDIT:  And on another note, that didn't work as well as I expected :(.

EDIT #3:  because i misunderstood what shadow was saying oops LOL

And not to worry, I plan on adding more detail today (like around the edges where it's indented)

Nice start  :yay:

Thank you! :) I'm trying my best...hopefully I'll be able to get this done!  It will take a while (hopefully it won't be outdated before release :P) but I'm sure I can do it :D

Before you get too far in, I'd probably redo that saucer with more segments.  It looks pretty jagged atm.

Hey DJ, took your advice, instead of using 36 segments I used 64, looks MUCH better IMHO :)  Thanks!  Any more advice for this young modeler? :P

Started working on the Impulse engines...I have yet to boolean them (I know that's not always the best route but hey I figure :))

More pics :D

EDIT:  Booleaned the Impulse Engines and what not :)
EDIT#2: Another picture from behind...
EDIT#3:  I just realized that right now, this thing is sitting at 2364 polies, LOL The same year the Enterprise D was launched :D

Ok, after looking at Limey's secondary hull tutorial LOL I'm going to use that to work on the Luna that I'm making :) especially on certain areas on the saucer (the catamarans).  Hopefully I can get this right and everyone can be happy (or happy to blow this design that they don't like up)

I love the Luna.  It took me a bit to appreciate her, but that happened with the JJ-Ent too.

Same here, but others don't like it as much.

*sighs* I can't get the catamarans to look right...I've deleted, created, deleted, and created time and time again to the point I'm ready to give up on this project...maybe start off with a borg cube or something :(.  I like a challenge, but damn this is hard LOL
