Yeah...if I can find a fricken monitor by friday I'll be peachy...unless someone knows of a way to hook a PC up to a laptop....and I mean literally without any shared networks or anything of the sort

At which point there's a license error in Max 8 so I might be switching to 3.1 for a while on the laptop :(...or...I can just wipe my laptop clean and go from there....either way I'm pretty well urinated

have you tried plugging your PC into your TV?  That's pretty easy to do.

I don't have an up to date TV to be quite honest, it's kinda 80's-ish...That, and there's a door in the way LOL.

Though Aces, you get a cookie because i'm gonna use my personal TV in the storage unit if I can find an adapter LOL

that shouldn't be too hard, I know my graphics card came with a VGA to RCA adapter, as well as an S-Video-out port.

The Good news is, I have a new monitor

The bad news is...I no longer HAVE bad news :D

EDIT:  And please no "you're getting too ahead of yourself" comments, I mapped it just this once and well, I wanted to see how she'd look with textures :P  She's very light...which is temporary, I plan on making her just a tad darker, almost in line with JLS's Sovereign.

EDIT 2:  There's some minor smoothing issues with the impulse engines, they're being taken care of :)

EDIT 3:  if anyone reads this, I need some advice on splinecaging...I've tried using it on the secondary hull and I can't seem to get it right :( any suggestions????

eesh...that sounded mean :( perhaps I misphrased.  I'm doing everything in the tutorials, it's just shaping it to the Titan that I'm having a hard time with.  I'd like to fix it...that's what 5 shots of 151 and two strawberry daqueries will do to you

Ok, so one of my friends sent me an email and it had the 3ds Max bible in it LOL.  I'm going to be reading and studying through it and working on the Luna while I'm doing this.

Well, in all honesty, the Luna class's secondary hull is a bit...strange compared to some others'.  Best of luck mate!

Which is WHY i've been worried LOL.  It's similar to the Sovereign's, but it's not entirely the same.

At the moment, I'm kinda frustrated.  I'm taking a small break from this (possibly a week) I just need to cool off and well...read the Max Bible...and take some time to actually learn the ropes a bit instead of jumping the gun and doing exactly what i've done with the Luna...

Ok, taking time out of my PCDJ skin, and moving to start working on the Luna again...I'm still trying my best at splinecaging the secondary hull...it's not turning out so great as well...it's an odd shaped secondary hull :(.  I haven't given up yet :) I'm looking for more decent tutorials and I'm also reading up on the Max 8 bible.  Wish me luck you guys! :D

And advice is still welcome :D

Ok, I haven't updated in a while, and there's good reason.  I'm giving up on the Titan for now (this is temporary)....I don't have the modeling experience necessary and no tutorial is helping me.  I'm a book smart type person so I need training in a classroom.  So this semester I'm going to sign up for a few modeling classes and go from there.

I will still hone my Photoshop skills though and try to complete the Steamrunner at least (Since wiley is making an FC Sovereign that is about 20,000,000 times better than my retexture).  I may even model some phasers on the P81 Norway and retexture her also.

But as far as the Luna goes...unless someone wants to take the time and help me learn Max (and even then I'm not guaranteeing that I'll learn) it's on the backburner for now.

Well I'm back on the Titan...

EDIT:  Actually I'm just going to rebuild the Secondary hull again, but, I'm not giving up on this this time.  I know what I did the last time, and I'm going to reimpliment those techniques this go around.
