While the majority of this article: http://trekmovie.com/2009/05/20/library-computer-star-trek-mere-anarchy-review-haynes-enterprise-manual-announced/ focuses on Mere Anarchy, there is something Trek 09 related, a Haynes Enterprise Manual!  Check it out. ;)

FourChan, how does having all the toys make you a sad person?

FourChan, there is nothing wrong with collecting merchandise. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I would gladly collect merchandise. I just don't have the room to display any. I mean hell, if there was a life size stargate for sale somewhere, I would gladly display it in my back garden and not give a damn about what people think.

Hopefully, a smaller diecast Trek XI Enterprise will be avaliable soon. At least that I would have room for.

The Hot Wheels one is supposedly coming out in June.

Theres a hot wheels one?
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

Eventually, and they're also doing the Narada.  Don't ask me how they're going to do that monstrosity and make it kid-safe though...

Also: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120425717385  Keychain. ;)

I knew about the keychain. The thing with diecast models though is that they often have high detail and are a small size. How do you think I am able to fit my Red Dwarf, Starbug, Scutter and x-wing models on-top of a single xbox 360, lol? The keychain is small but it also loses a lot in detail.

Probably true, but I ordered me one anyway.  :P

And I have both the Hot Wheels JJ-Prise and Narada on pre-order at Entertainment Earth.  The JJ-Prise because it's cool, and the Narada because...well, I have a certain morbid curiosity as to just how they put that thing together and avoided making it a hazard to children.

I wish that I would be able to afford the QMx Artisan Studio Scale Enterprise when it's released though...I'll probably have to settle for the smaller replica.  Hopefully they do the Kelvin too.

They probably smothed all the sharp pointy bits. Or theres a recommendation that its not for below 8 year olds. I dunno :P.

Probably.  I just hope that it doesn't get delayed til next year like the Playmates version did.

I got my JJPrise keychain today, which surprised me since I ordered it Friday.  Not that that's a bad thing, but I may have to have it checked for matter/antimatter reactions. :P  Pretty good quality though, pretty much same kinda quality that the ol Micro Machines had.  One cool little detail is that the bottom of the saucer looks extra plain at first, but under certain lights, you can see an aztec pattern, which is a pretty cool touch.

Would you be willing to post pictures of your one so that I could get a good view of it before making a purchase?

Still a shame that the picture on those boxes wasn't the first view of the Enterprise we got.

I want the ENT-D.

Roughly, in inches, how big is 1:50 scale? I never undertood the way scaling works for diecast models. My '1977 Starsky And Hutch Gran Torino' and 'Dukes Of Hazzard Dodge Charger' car models are 1:18 scale so I hope 1:50 scale doesnt mean those Trek models would be huge.

If anyone knows of a life-size TNG transporter pad replica though, let me know.  :D

I build models of cars and should be able to help, 1:50 scale is 1 inch equals 50 inches, i.e. your 1:18 General Lee & 1976 Striped tomato, 1 inch to you, is 18 inches to them

Trek Cereal has been around for a while. I'll dig up the pack I bought oh-so-long ago (I accidentally the whole cereal, it was horrible).

Star Trek.....part of a complete breakfast. :D

I went through two boxes worth of that stuff inside of a week.  It's basically Star Trek themed Lucky Charms, which explains why I ate it so fast.

Get a box, eat the cereal, and keep the box.  Voila.  You're done.

Quantum Mechanix has aquired a license to make Trek XI based merchandise.
http://www.quantummechanix.com/Star_Trek.html

These are the guys that did those alternate paint works for the Trek XI Enterprise model on the official movie website but they were never released to the public.

Given the quality of their F-302 models, this will be beyond awesome. It would be good to compare a QMx Enterprise to the Playmates one. I didn't ever buy the Playmates one but hopefully there will a comparison review up on YouTube or something like that after the first line of models is done by QMx.

I really hope they do a U.S.S. Kelvin model somewhere down the line aswell.

While Old News there Billz, it is awesome news indeed.  Though, QMx didn't do the paintjobs on the alternate Enterprises, it was their model.

Now, it's not mentioned on the website, but QMx told TrekMovie.com that they are going to make considerable improvements to the model for its production run, including better lighting effects in the engines and running lights, new lighting for the impulse drive, and even an opening shuttlebay.  Now, this is for the Studio Scale model, so it'll be about 34 inches in length and will probably be extremely pricey, but a billion times better than the Playmates ship.

The smaller, more affordable model will still have handpainted details, but no lights.  It'll be around 10 inches long.  From the sound of their press release, I think that a USS Kelvin model isn't out of the running.  They're also going to do some prop replicas.

What's kinda sad is that this was the same stuff that Master Replicas was going to do originally.  Just another sign that Master Replicas has really started to die since losing the Star Wars license.
