problem with galaxy charts and warping
« on: April 18, 2009, 03:54:55 PM »
hi all, dont know if this is in the right place, feel free to move if it isnt.
Ive had a problem with galaxy charts for a while now and cant seem to find an answer anywhere specific to my problem.
Here goes ....
in GC when i go into stella cartography i cant click on any of the starsytems in the GUI, they stay yellow and dont highlight blue anymore so i cant select a system to warp to.
From the helm menu i can select a system but when i click warp, nothing happens. there is a silgh pause as if it is trying to initiate the warp cutscene but nothing actually happens. i can however slipstream to my selected system but not warp.
i went into the Travel_Player_Log and i get this:

#>>>Setting Destination...
#>>> -Destination: Systems.Badlands.Badlands1
#>>> -Initialized destination set
#>>>Travelling procedures initiated...
#>>>Updating Variables...
#>>> -Is Player - Checked
#>>> -Attribute: Initial Set = SystemJ251
#>>> -Attribute: Destination Set = Badlands1
#>>> -Cancelling, initial set or destination set doesn't have the Region set.

I have tried reinstalling GC automatically and manually, also reinstalled th KM sytems from the scripts foler, also all of the warp.init etc etc.
Like i said, sliptream works fine form the 'select sytem' in Helm menu. and i cant click on the sytem in the GC stella cart menu.

sorry for the long post and cheers for any help.

Try getting a console report.

Also look at the other threads regarding Galaxy Charts (there are a few). Don't forget the Solved Problems (sub) forum.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

Could you put the attached file in scripts/Custom/Autoloads/ then run BC to the point where you are having problems, and then attach the new file in scripts/Custom (ends with _output.txt starts with the current date and time)?

The problem is that system SystemJ25.
That system, and actually a couple others included in KM1 have scripting errors.

To prevent problems if such errors are encountered GC kinda ignores these systems (for going to them and going out of them). Tho not all of them are "ignored" like this, some can work if you try again, but probably the system will be incomplete (as having some missing objects).
SystemJ25 if I remember correctly is one of these "unreacheable" ones.

And yes this has been brought up before in GC's Tech Support Forum.
