"Port Royal"?! why not just name one "Black Pearl" and get the fanboying over with! :P

actually, USS Interceptor might make sense.

I think the 4 names I'm inclined to at the moment are as follows:

USS Yorktown (Gene's original name for the Enterprise)
USS Hornet (to complete the midway trio)
USS Illustrious (British carrier)
USS Ark Royal (British carrier)

I will post the PSD files for the saucer and nacelles so you guys can add your own names to the any of the JJfleet to my filefront account once the pack is released.

would let you have blank TGA's if you really wanted your own names on the ships.

Well if we a re looking at TOS connies just do the lot. But I don't want to burden your installs with 13 x connies and 6 other ships!

Since this is the JJverse can ignore canon. After all the Farragut was a connie in the prime verse, TOS "Obsession" Kirk's first assignment.

Actually, I don't believe it was ever established that the Farragut was a Constitution-class.  In the novels and other apocrypha it is assume that the Farragut was a Constitution-class, but it's just as likely that it was an older class vessel. ;)

Anything listed as a 'Starship' was was considered a Constitution Class. Remember the plaque on the bridge of the Enterprise said 'USS Enterprise Starship Class'...In TOS - Court Martial, when Kirk is on trial..he talks about what happened with him and Finney as taking place aboard 'United STARSHIP Republic number 1371' So we can assume anything notated by the word Starship at that point in time was considered the same class as the Enterprise

As for the names..you have to have the Yorktown in there some where..and the Ark Royal is a storied name as well..

Errr, not necessarily CptBenSisko.  United Star Ship was used, as well as United Space Ship, among other things, to sort of signify what U.S.S. stood for.  And if we go by the dedication plaques, then the new JJ-Prise would be Starship-Class too. ;)

My vote goes for either Yorktown or Ark Royal.

At the moment the jjfleet pack will be ready for release in the next 24 hours.

I have a couple of tests to complete and some screen shots to take then I'll upload.

The second connie has the name Yorktown with it's TOS reg.

Baz, what's the standard texture size you're using?

high texture will be 2048 for the most part but I will be including the 1024 textures for Med which I sent you for the beta test. I have already resized the additional textures used on the other ships.

I will not be including a low folder.

won't matter on the size.  some of us auto-shrink due to our senile graphics cards (i'm gonna price some today, and see if I have to get a new power scource).
