i disagree - i think Lint's Klingon ships are awesome!
their only problem is the damaging aspects; if i recall correctly, the ships dont damage...
It's because what they lack in textures they make up for with model ;) all the tiny details that would be textured in are modeled in instead

Um, not really.  For one thing, the dome on the underside of his B'rel and K'vort is flat instead of being...well...a dome.  The engine on the back looked odd, and the neck seemed short.  And they seemed to be the wrong color overall...  And Jimmy, you're right, most of Lint's ships didn't damage.  And the BOPs and the Excelsior are the only ones that I really have a problem with visually...maybe I'm just nitpicky. :idk:  Lint still made my preferred Defiant.

And on that note back to the Darwin

Nice!

Any chance increasing the render size... 1024+ As they're a tiny bit too small to look at the details?

Cheers

wow i love this design, VERY sleek, lets hope it has the speed and firepwoer to match XD  :dance

Honestly, going by the name of the class, the fact that Baz has said it's fitted with landing gear, and that it's essentially a branch-off of the Intrepid, I'd say it's not too heavily armed.  Fast?  I sure hope so.  The ship looks like a flying knife.

will you be doing a MVAM Aero Shuttle to go with the Darwin Baz?

Not entirely sure what the purpose of this ship is. To me, it looks like a modified Intrepid Class. But as per your previous statement, this being a ship designed to act as a "duck blind" on pre-warp planets, what purpose does it serve to make the ship look this "elaborate" ? Would it not be more prudent with essentially a flying brick + warp nacelles?

I dunno, most duck blinds I could imagine, would want to be as inconspicuous as possible.

This is not a jab at the modelling or the texturing, but more towards the actual purpose this ship is intended to serve.

I don't know, you see what happened to the Grissom when she was attacked by a Bird of Prey?  She stood no chance at all.  This ship looks like she would at least be able to defend herself or get away fast enough to live.

Your response, didn't have anything to do with my question.

Well it might of been a prototype of the Intrepid which later was put into service due to manufacturing problems :P Remember DT it's only a game :P

But a word to Baz, I'd suggest making your own sensor arrays/thrusters and not taken off the drex files renders so it matches in with the textures ;)

this looks more like a research vessel designed for missions, that are a little too hot for nova class ships. the nova is a planetary research vessel and not designed for deep-space exploration.

No fear these are just place holders.

DT, This is a research vessal, that can planet fall (and unlike the 1701-D take off again). The design is two fold, first off planetry observations are just a small part of its role. Second the feds want multi role ships so if another war comes there way or the borg show up they can call all hands to defend their borders. Though not overly powerful on her own she will be quick and able to make quick jabs at the enemy and run away to live for another day.

Besides the duck blind options is just a justicfication for a cloaking device :P

wait I thought that Enterprise D couldn't take off the planet because of evil Troi driving skills  :lostit: but then again I've never seen any indications of landing gear on saucer ...

That was what I was joking about this ship can take off the Ent-D can't  :hithead:

Added more detail and got rid of all but one piece from the orginal voyager ref textures.

I like the design of the ship, and her purpose. She reminds me at the Sequoia class..

But to be honest, the textures seems a bit bland (empty). Something is missing in front of the big windows,...

These are just tips, i like the design a lot, but i think there needs to be more detail (perhaps some aztec detail?)

If you told this already in a few previous posts, then my apologies. The internet is a bitch here (holidays).

Excellent job Baz! Looks great.

Small suggestion, the flat area in front of the observation windows would do nice to have some "decaling"... kind of like the kind of decaling you see on the Sovereign just in front of the deflector.
