Awww baz I'm really sorry this is what it came to  :( you're a huge part of the BC family
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
 Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Seriously, this should have never come to this. It just go to show what words can do. Don't stop Baz, as a runner people tell me "Your not big enough kid", Or "Your too slow Ian" But then I go out an win a race. I love your work, and so does 99.9 of the BC family. Don't mod for others, but for yourself.

Well said dead!! Ive seen this for soooooooooooo many years in soooo many forums..SFC, Armada, all over.. even sports games like NHL or NBA. Its all personal preference.. Mod/Model for yourself..not for anyone else!! I wanna see this ship.. DJ pulled off a fantastic 4ft Galaxy model..and then modified it into a 6 ft model. Is it perfect?? No and hes the first to admit it.. Go for something as close as you can get it. As long as you do your best..no one can fault you for anything man.

Baz don't quit!
I mostly lurk but your work is always one of the first WIP's I look at! Don't let one sorta insensitive/rude comment stop you!
Plus the galaxy class is SUPER COMPLICATED!!! The fact that you can make such a wonderful looking model is soooo impressive within itself!
Don't Quit! :)

Look, Sov, no one can really ever takes nitpicking really well.  Modelling a ship is like painting a painting.  If I decided to paint a picture of the view outside my window, and I decided to do so in an abstract style, you can't say its bad because "it doesn't look like it should".  One thing I absolutely love about his interpretation (note my clever wordage) is his aztecing.  It's a bit different from other interpretations, such as DJ's and SNS's.  (By the way, because none of them are exactly like another, does that mean all these interpretations are wrong?  I guess you should start asking for v2's so all the Galaxy's out there match your suggestions.) (Again, take note of the wordage.)

And one more thing while it's fresh on my mind - you're the only one on this forum who seems to have this particular issue.  If, maybe, some other people concurred with your conclusion, I would give it more credit.  But it seems there is near unanimous approval for Baz's work.  So unless you want a "Baz1701's Galaxy Class - Sovereign001 Edition", your nitpicking is somewhat moot.

Baz... you always do and have done outstanding work.

Period.

i second that notion, i have had my share of disheartening criticism, and i have taken it in stride and evolved from it, there were times i admit where i wanted to say the hell with yall, but i kept on because wether i see it or not, there are some out there who enjoy my work more than others, i recall at one point, shortly after releasing the Lionheart (which i still to this day think is my worst ) where i thought my worked simply sucked harder than a porn star because that damn "downloads counter" on BCF barley moved in comparison to some of the other big wigs here, and the comments on some of my stuff were HORRENDOUS.

needless to say my thoughts were "well if barely anyone is downloading my work, and doing nothing but criticizing me, then why the hell should i even put in soo much of my free time for this?" i went a week without touching ANYTHING, it wasnt untill i got a random email from a "fan" (so to speak) telling me how much my work was appreciated and that i was going to be followed by this person from here on out, that brought a smile to my face, restored my will, and i began on the second Arsenal.

I greatly appreciate your work Baz, I LOVED your JJ Ent-A, and i sincerely hope that you would continue onward sooner or later, i look forward to watching you see this through to the end... no matter what anyone says about how accurate it is.

in the end were all artists, doing our own interpretation of what we love, and NOTHING we will produce will ever be 100% accurate.  :dontcare:

(sorry for the long read, i HAD to get that point across)
I came, i saw, i added a Sig.
Later gents, i have Youtube to take over.

Which is basically what I said, except without excessive italicization. ;)

How come I didn't get a cookie? :P

Also, now for the part of my rant to Baz:
Baz, you are awesome.  You dish out work faster than a procrastinating shift manager on a caffeine high.  And that work has always turned out to end in top-notch quality.  Taking a look at the various iterations of your JJPrise, it's amazing to see your progression as an artist.  So don't bend to Sov's nitpickiness.  Think about it this way - you were disappointing pretty much just him whilst working on it.  While not working on anything at all, how many people are disappointed now?  (Hint, it's more than just Sov. ;))

Because my computer conked out and booted me offline while I was giving you one...correcting this now :P

Before Jimmy has a field day with us all, I think we might need to give this a rest and let Baz make his decision.

Baz, I just have to say, before Jimmy locks this thread, your work is awesome.  Don't let one person's comments get you down.  Sov was out of line and rude.  You're the master modeler, you don't have to listen to anyone's criticism.

Baz, if you get back into this, then I'll get back into modeling, and hopefully finish something that I started... why do I feel like I'm going to regret saying that?

Thanks for the support. I have slept on it and the soul searching is over and I'm not going any where.

Sov please don't take it personal that this has happened just because of your post, it is just the straw that broke the camels back.

I do appreciate feedback though I'd like to keep it as suggestions rather than sounding like demands. After all we all do this for free.

And as for my name being attached to a mod meaning an automatic download, though that would be nice I am not vain enough to believe this is the case (after all I have built 5 JJprise and we all know how popular that ship is in the trekkie community).

I've said it before I build the ships as I enjoy doing it. The fact they can be used for BC is an added bonus, the fact I don't even play BC anymore does not take away from the pride I get from others enjoyment of them. I also find pride in coming second to the modelling giants of the community in the MOTM, and also the 2 months I myself won it. When your up against such talent second is a great achievement.

Ok Statement over and back to business.

The Galaxy's UV's were screwed during the recent mods and are now fixed. Also sorted on the saucer sep plan to align better.

So second star to the right and straight on till morning.
Whatever knocks us back, can only make us stronger.

Glad you are back. It weren't demands, just a few suggestions. Unfortunately, my name is already made here as the "nitpicker" on this forum so all my work like the new planets and stars i was making are quite frankly also finished. (who wants to download it from the bastard that almost put you away ;) )

I wish you good luck my friend.

Close call there, it would have been a huge loss for the community that lets face it is quite niche when it comes to size. Why won't someone do the two foot model?

Sov...do we have to give you the same pep talk we gave Baz??? :p

You may not have intended it to be demands but it came across as such.  We now know that wasn't the intent, informed you about why we were riled up and hope lessons learned.

We don't hate you at all so go ahead and work on your stuff!!  I'm sure it too will be downloaded.

That being said can we PLEASE let this be water under the bridge???

I'll start by saying Baz:  DAYUM!!!  LOL nice work my brotha!!!
I wonder if the old P81's might BE the 2 footer :P

You know that wouldn't surprise me :P

Based on what's going on over across the East Coast of the US, that might very well be "Water OVER the bridge", if the weather reports are accurate.

Baz, glad to see that youre back!!!!

Now on to the model.. I demand!!!!!! haha just kidding.. any who.. model looks good so far.. but i have a small suggestion..and its no big deal really..but based on what i remember of the season 1 Galaxy and on the way Scotchy built his galaxy.. the sec hull is the right shape and size.. but the edges seem a tad too thick..almost like youre building a combination of the 4fter and 6fter.... for a true 6fter the edges should be id say half the thicknes that you have... again..simply a suggestion..she looks fantastic overall!!! I cant wait to take her for a spin

I can't wait to get my hands on this ship.  And that is saying a lot considering my loathing of the actual design.
