I poly model not editable mesh so the stats are from that.

Then your poly count is innacurate, because editable mesh "sees" triangular polies, editable poly doesn't.

Ok if I convert to Mesh then check it is upto 12.5K. Alas my hope of 10K is out the window asI still have no neck or nacelles.

Still, 12.5 is not bad at all. And with your efficient skills I doubt that it will be more than 15 or 16K by the time it's done.
