Indeed, good work there Mr B!
But which one will be in game?  The one with holy pylons?

The textured one is Baz's, I can tell by the nose.  He revamped the bow of the ship to match up with the Light cruiser.

Well then I daresay you've got them looking spot on. The reason I asked what that they looked so similar, with a few added nuances. You've done a damned fine job with them, then.
There's an advantage doing it yourself, too: from what I remember, the stock models' UV maps were horrendous.

wish I had my comp back, I'd hand over my tweaked Kessok HP's for Tiq to tweak (I hotrodded my stockers :P)

yes, the UV mapping for almost all the stock models is utter crap.  Everything was laid on top of itself, and a lot of the panels are individual pieces instead of sheets.  apparently the default UV settings in max 3.2 were used.  before my windows crashed, I was working at a retex of the stock Marauder.  take a look at the mesh, it's not rushed like the others.

I'd have these along with Unknown's versions AND my hotrodded stockers, somehow.

As I start my 4th year of building for this game I've decided to revisit an old friend.

A new version of the JJ-Prise, eh?  And here I thought you were done with that sucker.  Looks good thus far.  Might be wrong, but it looks like you're using Tobias Richter's model as a reference?

EDIT: I also like that you're doing an open shuttlebay and a warp-speed version of the ship.  I'm assuming the warp version is why the deflector dish isn't built yet?  Are ya planning for the warp speed to be MVAM or F-Tech?

I must have seriously missed something at some point.  Why would you need F-Tech or MVAM for a ship going to warp?

When the JJ-prise goes to warp, the bussards glow, and other details of the nacelles extend/glow, the impulse engine turns off, and the center of the deflector changes.

MVAM would be for the shuttlebay, and Ftech would be for the texture swapping when the ship goes to warp.

Ftech can also be used for the opening of the nacelles, like Voyager's engines.

Yes I'm using Tobias's orthos, he sent me a large version of them. As for the plans for the ship are: -

Animated bussard collectors.
MVAM hanger door.
Ftech warp speed mode.

I'm also using lessons learned on textures the mark 5 had about 8 2048 maps. My plan is to get this at 3 maps plus an ID map.

Tobias's Enterprise is definitely the best one out there to use as reference.

Good looking ship there, Baz! I was wondering if you would ever go back to that ship. She is looking fine indeed.

I will say this now before you get TOO far into it.  There is one detail that Tobias didn't do quite right, and that's the front section of the neck that houses the torpedo launcher.  He has it set with an angle like the back part of the neck, but it shouldn't be.  Don't think I'm explaining this well...Here's a pic, red is where the small front section of the neck should be.
