I'd get that Enterprise-D if I had the money, the space, and didn't have an innate hatred for the gray goose-egg.  No offense to those who do like it, and this is the best toy of it I've ever seen, but I just don't like it.  It has no grace, no elegance.  Heck, the "Turkey-Prise" design of the Ent-E was better looking.  And would make an awesome model, now that I think about it.

Well I chose AMT because you get 3 enterprises, and with the other box with it, you have all the Enterprises.
But they are not detailed so that's a bit lame.

Bandai is still the best I think..

Anyone else here like trains? Its a HO scale TOS train set that gets sent to you in a minimum of 3 issues(max of 6) over the course of many months(default 6 weeks inbetween) that costs $70 each.

The three basic issues:
Diesel locomotive featuring the USS Enterprise and lights
Coordinating engine with the crew of the Enterprise featured on the sides. This issue includes a free HO track set.
Passenger car that lights featuring James T. Kirk. This issue includes a free power pack that runs the train on the track.  [with three issues you have all you need for a basic train set]
Optional issues:
Lighted passenger car featuring Mr. Spock (includes free tracks to expand the railroad).
Lighted passenger car featuring famous Federation and enemy Star Trek spaceships (includes a free "splitter" track piece).
Lighted passenger featuring various TOS aliens (includes a free "splitter" track piece).

Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Was it worth it?

I have yet to see the remastered episodes, maybe because they never aired in Britain to the best of my knowledge, but I love watching the original versions of the TOS episodes whenever re-runs are aired. (No room + hardly any money = no Star Trek DVDs besides the 10 Star Trek movies).
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

I've owned the new Diamond Select Toys Enterprise-D for over a week and it is awesome. It is the same size as the model kit and it has molded on aztec hull plating. The saucer seperation is very nice since it uses strong magnets to strengthen the connection (they are somewhere inside the ship and never shown on the outside-- very nice). All of the lights are LEDs and can stay on with the click of a button. When seperated, both components can be individually lit. This is an awesome replica and I recommend everyone to buy it. :)

I'm considering getting one of these.  Then again, I had the same idea for my AMT model.  I was going to make it so that it can seperate using magnets, and both saucer and stardrive would light up independently.  my only problem is how I was gonna integrate the two together (The saucer would be powered by a magnetic reed switch, much like the prop Tricorders work).

Oh, and Wiley, is it raised detail like on the AMT kit?  Or is it like the actual 4' model?

I'm gonna be getting my hands on that SDCC Space Dock Enterprise...mainly cause I can say the inaccuracies in the mold and paint are because it's not finished yet.  :P

EDIT: My local Hastings(Video, Game, Book store for those of you across the pond or anywhere that doesn't have them) has the All Good Things Enterprise-D! O.O

EDIT2: I just received my Space Dock Enterprise.  I'm definitely happy with the money I paid, it's a pretty neat concept.  However, the inaccuracies are still there and I'm somewhat disappointed with the fact that the body of the secondary hull is the only die-cast part of the ship and the connecting dorsal appears to be rubbery rather than solid plastic.  Somewhat odd considering that the Klingon Bird-of-Prey was more die-cast than plastic.  While it is pretty good, it does make me feel a bit uneasy about how the quality of the new movie Enterprise will be...   Pics will be up when I have a chance!
