At a joint conference with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in July 2006, Dubya couldn't stop talking about his assignment at a German state dinner - carving a pig:

Dubya: "I'm looking forward to the feast you're going to have; I understand I may have the honor of slicing the pig ... I guess that's about all - we discussed a lot of things, in other words. And thank you for having me. I'm looking forward to that pig tonight."

Question: "Apart from the pig, Mr. President, what sort of insights have you been able to gain as regards East Germany?"

Dubya: "I haven't seen the pig yet."

Question: "Does it concern you that the Beirut airport has been bombed...?"

Dubya: "I thought you were going to ask me about the pig."

Bush solemnly told Merkel that in Texas there is no higher honor than an invatation to a barbeque.
