Problems with multiplayer

Hi, dunno if anyone can help, but i try to join a game and at first it said i had an older version. so i downloaded the 1.1 patch and installed it. now it goes to connect but disconnects saying and i qoute ' file version mismatch.scripts/autoexec.pyc ' please please can anyone find a way to help me?? what can i do to fix this?

okay, are you playing the stock game??

Be sure you aren't joining a KM 1.0 server...

It should be clearly identified.

yes its the stock game,

and yeh it shows the km 1.0 i never thought anything of it. what does that mean?

KM, or Kobayashi Maru, is a Multiplayer mod that combines quite a lot of ships and other scripts and ensures that the entire set will work correctly in multiplayer.


Basically, everyone in a multiplayer game needs to have the same files, of everything (except textures and sounds!).
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

it should install just like KM, but keep in mind, if you install that too, you cannot join KM matches, because the files aren't the same anymore.

okay so there seems to be no end to my problems :x
iv got it installed, but it either freezes, goes straight to game over or loads me on but then doesnt show the other players  :?

any ideas?

also is there any way of removing the km1.0 or turning it off?

i went onto the website you gave me, downloaded a file called the ' km.1.0 installer exe'  and then it installed itself. enough detail?

wich i dug through and i cant locate the section that tells you how to do that.
anywhere else i could find this info @?

ive been watching this thread because im setting up my own seperate install for MP..
an aspect of this game i have YET to try

that's because it isn't in the PDF.. it's in the readme.rtf file...

the ports you want are 22101 and 28900 for both incoming and outgoing traffic.
