Saucer needs more segmenting to be honest.

Saucer is staying how it is as that's how the original Legacy looks like by Galen. :P

I'm afraid your mistaken... i've seen the Legacy by Galen many times over, and a quick Google search turned up the following:

Ah yes but these pics are a mixture of the mk1 legacy & mk2... however I'm doing the U.S.S. Cadence not the legacy prototype which these pics are showing ;)

Exactly.  Like the one here: http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/337/c/6/USS_Cadence_Wallpaper_by_Galen82.jpg

Nice link. Proved my point perfectly. I asked for additional segments in the saucer of his model, in which he said:

~Jb

In the pic you posted, Shadowknight... it's quite clear that the saucer is alot smoother than the current game model. Even without making it "super high poly" it can still have a smoother curvature than it currently has.

Hate to jump onto the bandwaggon, but the guys are quite correct here, those textures look great, but the saucer does need more polies.

Good work none the less.

Segments could of meant anything DT textures or mesh... be more specific & besides you should no by now im not a modeller :P

Ok, i went back in and changed the rim segments from 32 to 64. I re mapped and sent it to JB.

Honestly, i was trying to keep the model under 15k. Now i'm pushing 18+. I feel bad that JB thought this was about his great work, and when i read the statement i thought it was about the textures also. This should have been mentioned during my modeling. And i guess all the links and pics are nice if you want a 300k ship, but comparing my work to theirs..... well..... I'm not mad or anything, jest not too happy. I can see why Wily does not allow pis and links in his topic. This is a topic to show MY work and the others that work on the projects with me. JB is doing great work, and i myself up to this day thought this was my best ship and was very proud.

Here is a pic of the fixed saucer.

I hope no one tolk my reply the wrong way, i'm not trying to tell any one off or anything like that. I DO value any and all input from you all, but it really has to be at the right time in the project. It's like changing a tire on your car wile doing 100k on the high way, lol.

I, my self might have taken the past few post the wrong way or maybe read in to it to much. I know you guys, your a great bunch. If by chance my massage was taken wrong, i'm sorry. I've been annoyed at people checking if i have permissions for these project, wile the guy that designed them visits from time to time and reply's that he likes my work. And the links and pic to Studio quality work shakes my confidants as i feel like i'm being compared to them. Like i said, i was trying to stay at my goal of under 15k.

I very well have mis read in to all this, again i'm sorry. I have had very little sleep the past few nights. I'm turing 30 in a 24 hours, funny thing is there is a change it might be my last. Next week i have an operation, everything looks good up till the time they tell me there are risks, and there is a 2% chance that an avrage person would not make it. Put i'm a smoker and over wight that my risk is higher.

I don't know why i'm writing this, maybe it will help me. I work 2 job and one is my own company, and when i'm home i wait for my wife to come home. Other than my wife the only real conversation that i have is here and with my team, and i have not even told them yet. Don't get me wrong, i do have friends and family, but i'm a long way from home, across the world, so its really hard to talk about something like this in an email.

So with this stress consuming my thoughts, i've been modeling my ass of trying to let my mind off the possibility. So i guess its fair to say i mis understood your intents, so im sorry.

Well fingers crossed everything goes ok with the op ;)

With the adjusted saucer ive added a little more to the textures around the bridge and began on the spine.

Enjoy

It looks nice! At least you don't have to add the extreme detail like I'm doing on the Ent-D. I like the balance between simple and over-detailed.

Looks MUCH better (both model and texture-wise), so kudos to both of you :P

Dude, could you post some wireframe renders of the ship, that 18k count is a bit fishy IMHO.
