Try running as administrator with at least installed 1.1 patch :P

I've just did. And no effect, AGAIN...

So far I did:
-Changing installation dir,
-Running as admin,
-Compatibility mode, which seemed only to produce a "error" sound without visible error message,
-Upgrading to v1.1,
-Deleting options.cfg,
-:banghead:
And STILL no results.

One hell of a problem, I see...

uninstall the game completely... reinstall in new directory then install the patch and run the game.

sooo very odd.

Will do, but not much hope left here...But thanks anyway...

One last ditch: I think I've read that some of the ST titles work in a FAT32 environment, the ones found in USB sticks. Do you think that will work?

What is your OS? Starter, Home, Enterprise, Ultimate? I think and this is important.
EDIT: btw, try with compactibility mode under XP SP2 :P

don't run in compactibility mode, it's not really needed.

I don't run it with compactibility too, but still it's not so unimportant to forget :P

My os is Windows 7 Home Premium.

As I said, I've already tried using compatibility mode.

BTW, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game&did everything from scratch, and it still not working...
I'll try using a FAT32 environment as a last ditch, I'll let you know.

Its odd, because I got some good old titles working under 7 without any mods and glitches... Like Descent 3 of Outrage&Interplay...

Thanks to both of you, for sparing your time...

that wouldn't cause this.

btw when you uninstalled BC did you delete the leftover folder and files in it? (sometimes things still remain)
I'd also make sure the BC reg is cleaned from your system.

That's cause your processor(old one) couldn't handle the strain those applications required of it... (that's why you look at system requirements) any new computer these days can run BC without much if any problems at all.

If he's running Win 7 and has everything else running smoothly I'd bet BC would run fine.

I mean with the OpenGL, dx8 and old dx9 applications. The applications made after 2005 didn't make any problems.

If its going to help,

My processor is Intel Core2 Duo, T6500 2.10Ghz, Dual core.
And yeah, I've cleaned up the leftover after uninstalling.

I don't get it... It is like the game is "working", but the sounds, visuals, etc. everything is absent. Only thing I got is the game's mouse pointer roaming around. And when I check the game folder, I see everything is in their place...

Maybe I should play in the options.cfg? Some setting might be getting in the way of everything?

Also,
I mean with the OpenGL, dx8 and old dx9 applications. The applications made after 2005 didn't make any problems.

Well, I got the Descent 3 from 1999, and its running perfectly...

So, if you have only a mouse pointer, this maybe is a BSoD. See the requirments of BC and install something or update your Windows from windows update. Check everything BC needs. Maybe the windows has something that BC needs and it's missing :arms:

I think we already figured that a while ago... though getting a console report now wouldn't hurt......
