try 3ft+ when you're 5'5 tall.. The snow banks on the road are easily that high (5ft+) and I had to jump and wave so that the bus wouldn't go by without picking me up.  :P so yeah, you have it easy.

what, Jimmy, you forgot he's from Scandanavia?  that's a NORMAL snowfall for him, and even I don't think that's too unusual (I started and ended school in a Blizzard that was a lot worse).

Meh, you people act like you've never seen snow before :P

Here in Sweden, it gets so ridiculous with newspapers using big headlines such as "Chaotic snowfall" and "Extreme chaos". Sweden is pretty far north on the planet, snowfall should be pretty normal. Yet some people act like it's the end of the world, or caused by global warming.

1-2 ft of snow ain't too bad.

It is when moronic plow drivers turn it into six-foot walls that block your whole driveway and your front door, heh.

At least you're not North Carolina where one drop of snow and everyone rushes to the grocery stores for milk eggs and bread.....yeah, milk sandwiches for the whole family folks!!  lol

That's EXACTLY how it was with the snow fall that happened here a few weeks ago.  South Wales + Snow = Snow dusted South Wales where everyone panics and has milk sandwiches!
I miss :bigdance:

And as if it couldn't get any worse, it's started to rain here. So now the five-foot frozen walls outside my door will be frozen solid. Unless they melt because the temps are gonna go up to the upper 40s (that's Fahrenheit for you silly Celsians - I don't live on Mercury, lol).

Darkthunder; actually, Joshmaul is right.  in residential neighborhoods and small towns, a hefty snowfall means you WILL be plowed in, take damage to your car if you were foolish enough to park in the street, or have your mailbox destroyed by over-enthusiastic guys clearing ditches.  and in my experience, the Interstate/motorways get plowed first over everything else.  5 AM after a snowfall can be a hazardous driving experience on back roads.

as for southern folk panicking at one inch of snow?  that's because, from my experience down here in Virginia Beach; everyone's on summer tires or dub rims and cops give you slowing tickets as well as speeding tickets.  plus, a lot of bad weather tires are illegal to sell :P

To give you a sense: This was a picture my mom took on Saturday, looking out from my basement apartment. My door opens up into the driveway and parking lot of this little residential complex (I live in unit 1, below the main house where my parents live - the landlord lives down in 4, IIRC).

7F/-14C Still winter.

No kidding. Here I thought winter was almost over with. The ground was virtually barren. And then suddenly over night, *boom* 10 cm of snow, and -10C...

I'm not usually one to complain about winter, but it's getting rather tiresome :P
