Early 25th Century Cardassian Warship
« on: December 22, 2009, 03:39:31 AM »
Just to show I'm not a one trick Federation pony.  :D

After many years recovering from the War, the Cardies have begun to rebuild.

This is not a refit, but an entirely new class of Cardassian warship.  She will be armed to the teeth.  No more Cardie cannon fodder.

I'd love to hear some class name suggestions.  Ship name too.

How does Orisha-class sound?
Calvin grows up to be Frazz. The logical continuation of this is, of course, that Frazz then grows up to be Edward Norton's character from Fight Club. And thus, all four of these characters are gods.Let's go one more step. Calvin grows up to be Jeremy, who grows up to be Frazz, who grows up to be "Tyler Durden," while Suzie grows up to be Haruhi Suzumiya; since Kyon becomes The Doctor, this leads to the inescapable conclusion that after the end of Fight Club, Calvin becomes Captain Jack.

Sankara-class?

Its great that you are designing a non-Fed ship for once, not that we dont love your known Fed ships by the way. Have a good christmas and keep up the good work.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

In honor to a Cardassian hero/leader who helped freeing Cardassia from Dominion : Damar class

Now this is really cool looking Cardassian ship, I like similiarities to new streamlined Fed designs like Sovereign ;) great job DJ, can't wait to see it textured.

my idea is to put small craft (similiar to hideki attacker) detachable from bottom-central part of the wing, kinda like captains yacht or aero shuttle ;)

Looks awesome DJ.

DJ is there anything you can't design? She is a beauty.

How about Obsidian class or, a more peaceful name perhaps reflecting a rebuilt Cardassia, Hebitian class?

Why not:

DUKAT - Maybe, for the cardassians, his most famous captain.

VORNAR - Like many Cardassians, he was disillusioned by with the alliance with the Dominion and sympathetic to the Cardassian rebellion. Guarding the entrance to a Jem'Hadar ship when Damar appeared in disguise, Vornar recognized Damar, but pretended he did not, granting Damar permission to enter. DS9: Tacking Into the Wind

Dunno about Dukat it would be like naming a ship after J. Stalin or A.Hitler, both are rather infamous so I guess Dukat is not worthy enough to name a ship after him ;)

I like the ship design! It's like a modernised Galor-class, it still retains the Cardassian design features but still looks new and different. As for armed to the teeth, I'd agree; the Galors went down quicker than a Miranda.

As for the ship's name, I would agree that the Damar-class suits it best. Damar died for a 'new Cardassia' and this ship ressembles the new fleet of Cardie ships from after the war.
