Icarus Battle Cruiser
« on: April 27, 2010, 09:46:38 PM »
Saw this design and I liked it.  She looks to be a Pre-TOS Battleship or Battle Cruiser.  Unfortunatley, I do not remember where I found the schematics.

I actually designed something similar to this (and similarly named) a while back:

http://bc-central.net/forums/index.php/topic,6222.0.html

Although my version was intended as a TNG-era "Daedalus Class", perhaps this could work if you replaced the deflector dish with something more modern, more modernized nacelles, and ofcourse more TNG-era style texturing.

Just a thought. Would be cool to see both this and possibly my design, come to life :)

Looks like it is well on it's way. I notice off hand that the little "clips"(for a lack of a better word) on the sides of the bussard collectors aren't there were the engine connects to them. Sure you're still tweeking on her though.

Great work so far.

I remember where I saw her now, the Journel of Applied Technology.

Some great 22nd Century and 23rd Century designs there and the other sites attacted to Ex Astris Scientia.

Wow, I've always loved Aethernaut's (aka M. Christopher Freeman) designs. You do it a great service by lending your skill to modelling it.

Looks great there GMunoz.

I still hope you might consider making a TNG-era refit of this ship when your done. Model-wise, it wouldn't take a whole lot. Just updating the nacelles to perhaps the style of the Nova Class, and removing the spike on the deflector dish. And when/if you texture the TNG-era variant, make the deflector backlit.
