Modifying Hardpoints for Campaign Single player?

     How can I modify the sheild and weapons hardpoints for the Sovereign in the Single player.
Can someone tell me, or point me right direction to modify the USS sovereign in the (campaign) single player game?  I could not seem to find the right FAQ or info in the forums.

     I am have trouble destroying the Satellites around the planet where the "dense silicone" item is  (e5m1?) with all the Cardassian ships around.


     1).  The game doesn't seem to load the sovereign.py in Campaign I added to the hardpoints folder from the sdk.  It only loads right it in quickbattle.

     2).  I have BC-sdk and Bcut 17.

use test mode, or start a new campaign....

Thank You.

1). I assume using testmode enables certain functions and 2). Bc will stick with the hardpoints you started the campaign with even if it was not the stock configuration, correct?

Test mode has a mission select system, and the save file writes the hp, so when you continue it pulls the hp in the save file

EDIT: also delete the original hp file (sovereign.pyc)

One thing to remember when modifying hardpoints for single player: the torpedo types available must remain the same as the stock. If you get rid of the Sovereign's phased plasma's or quantum torpedoes, or the RanKuf's antimatter torpedoes, you'll get a game crash when the mission try's to make the ships use them.

I am continuing the game in god mode in certain situations.  But I will restrt a new campaign in a higher difficulty.  I did delete the hp soveriegn pyc after i moddifed the strenths of the sheilds/wepons (that's what I was trying to do) but still no changes even in test mode. 

I did not however run the separate missons in test mode-advance -then go to test mode run single player campaign yet.

So when the game saves -to go to next mission?  then it will pickup my modied soveriegn .py file.  Then I go back to playing campagn?  Would I go to regular campaign or test mode campagn?

Then.., If I modifed the hardpoint file before I picked up the phased torpedos in the course of the game the modded Sovereign hardpoint would not load right because the palsma torpedo's were not enabled yet by the game-right?... because the stock HP file from the sdk has the loaded script for plasma torpedo's online alraedy before the game was ready for it -right?

So..., The hp would only load after the game enabled it -or do I have to save it somehow with the test mode mission select system?

Correct. Also if you did not include the phased plasma's in the new Sov hardpoint then you will get a game crash when the mission try's to use them. But as the others have said, anytime you modify a hardpoint for single player, make sure that you go into the "Test Mode" menu and launch the mission you were at from there. DO NOT LOAD A SAVED GAME after you modify a hardpoint. Always use test mode or start a new game.

ok.  So After I modify  an HP then I go to testmode, then go through the missions far enough so it saves a game (so the hardpoint is saved) .  Can I then go to regular mode and use the saved hardpoints, or do I have to stay in test mode?

I also finshed the game then started a new one and both the galaxy and sovereign had my modded hp's.   I would still like to know if my above question in this reply is correct.

The game is good.  I am thinking of installing foundation again and modding it up.  Are there some user missions I can download, or a new campaign? Is the Kobayashi Maru mod good?

Once the game saves after you start it from test mode you're fine (as long as you don't modify another hardpoint of course  :P ). You'll be able to use saved games like normal afterwords.
