Loving the textures so far. I'm liking those ribs on the nacelles. Is the red stripes of the pennant going to run between them?

Glad you like the class name I came up with, I took a while looking up astronomical words and thought what is smaller than a Galaxy and Nebula? A Star but Star Class didn't sit well. Then I looked up a list of star names on Memory Alpha and thought Stellar.

Imagine the USS Centauri, Altair or Eridani. Something about those names that suits this ship and the era in which they were built.

Stars is Latin is astra, star in Latin is astrum.  Thought I would throw that out.

Given that this ship seems to be placed between the designs of the Ambassador and Galaxy classes, perhaps use a "Galaxy" name for the class?

Andromeda Class
Centaurus Class
Comet Class
Magellanic Class
Sunflower Class
Triangulum Class

One of my favorite ship classes is the Galaxy Class, but this one looks to be my next favorite :)

EDIT: After posting, I came to think of "USS Endeavour, Centaurus Class starship", which sounded pretty neat :P

i dont know about Centaurus, too close to Centaur IMO...  not "unique" enough...

DJ, if you live in SoCal for at least a month, you'll know why Stellar would not be a good name  :P

How about Starlifter as in the C-141.  Since it was the smaller transport for it's big brother, the C-5 "Galaxy", or maybe Blazar class (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blazar)
It's something that um... "caucasians that live in trailer parks who happen to be clueles or ignorant" use quite a lot to describe one thing or another.  Sorry, didn't want to use the WT term because it might offend some folks here.  I happen to have worked with this one girl, who fit the profile above perfectly, who used the term stellar or it's abreviated form... stella'... quite liberally, and with a valley girl accent too.
he is absolutely right...  i lived in California (San Francisco) for about a year (in the late 90s), and i must admit when i read the possibility of it being called "Stellar Class" or thought "USS Stellar" for this ship, i thought to myself "please please please not that" lol

How about Cartography Class :P
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Milky Way Class?
Kit-Kat Class? :p

I think that Stellar Class fits, actually. Stellar class, USS Endeavour just fits.

USS Endeavor was likely already been used on another ship (and ship class) around that same time, tho...
it would be one thing if the name had been on a ship from years ago, but 2 ships around the same time wouldnt have had the same name...

Well, THAT was unexpected.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

"Beyond the rim of the star-light
My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me."

Here's where I'm at.  may not see much more progress until next week, as I'm headed off to a family reunion soon.

-reduced the windows size
-added windows to the rims
-did work to the bottom of the secondary hull
-did some grid lines on the top of the secondary hull
-did the torp launcher
-did the phaser arrays

I'm tempted to just call this the Gambie. :P
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

Hmm...  How about the Illustrious Class?

Whatever you call it,, I'll take two of 'em. Sort of has a Connie/New Orleans feel to it. Gets better every time I see her.

Some names I like, with definitions.

Neoma/Neona: greek: New Moon
Quamarah: muslim: The moon
Danica (dah-nee-kah): slavic: The morning star
Quamar: muslim: The moon
Solis/Sol: latin: Sun; sunshine
Ryuuza: japanese: Draco (dragon) constellation

Solar or Solis Class has a nice ring to it as well as Stellar.  Curtis Class? :)

Pulsar Class. :)

I'm liking it, even though it looks like a smaller proportioned Galaxy-class. :)
Can't wait for 2014 to start.
