I can't even get the setup.exe to run for max even set to windows xp. Not sure why.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

are you running a x64 os?

I have massive issues running old versions of max on any 64bit client. Normally its an issue with the C-Dilla licence program, I looked into it and although I found a C-Dilla that ran on 64bit that was not compatable with older versions of max.

As far as I know Max 3.1 doesn't use C-Dilla, it uses the sentinel protection system.
