I'd say get some of the deco ideas from the authors around here.  Gmunoz for TOS in addition to other scources, and since Baz and Wiley are the only JJers around, really...

I would download Wileys JJ Connie and take a look at his textures, they really are a great piece of art. For TMP stuff I would look for Adonis's ships around that era and for TOS my fav is still the Old master LS (Lord Schtupp)

I can't seem to map it to be Textureabley deisirable, i can't find a happy medium where i think the mapping looks right and i can see all that i need to texture

You've probably answered this one before, but what program are you modeling with?

mapping can be a slow process but one definitely worth taking your time with, I usually UVW Unwrap all the way, and map the lot ensuring it is scaled the same way through the entire mesh. Can you post an image of what ur having difficulties with.

MAKE SURE you use the "checker" texture that comes with MAX when your unwrapping the model, its the BEST way to make sure its accurate, when the squares are actually square your golden. PM me if you need any advice, theres some tricks to mapping that i use that can make life easier for you ;)
I came, i saw, i added a Sig.

Just an update for everyone on my Connie, shes Basically finished now and will be giving her to some lucky sod to HP for me if they would be so kind, but once she's 100% the other KITBASH'S will follow VERY VERY quickly followed closely by my rommies, so keep your eyes peeled ORIGINS IS FINALLY COMING TO TOWN!!!

Quick note I have ONLY incressed the specs to SEE them, in game they will not be this over powering,

Hope you all like them

Whenever you have a model just send it to me. Feds should be easy to hp, but for Rommies, Tholians and some Klingons you might want to send a list of weapons, or a ortho with the weapons pointed out, it's the easiest way.
