Once again astonishing modelling there phoenix, I just hope the game engines give the models the credit they deserve.

ok so i really wanted to show this off as a tos ship, now actually so far i'm quite happy with it, Except the torpedo launcher and the way the nacelles connect to the ship, so any and i mean any idea's and feedback would be greatly apricciated, here is the work so far, but please don't go cannon mad and say, this isnt right thats not right etc, this is ment to be an IDEA of not a replica, so thats how i intend to use any feedback i get  :D

Looks awesome. Although, I'd go with a more TOS-ish saucer, and I would turn the nacelles 9 degrees so that the warp grilles all face inward, like they do on the TMP-style.

Also, I'd probably make the Torpedo launchers look a little more bulky. They look too elegant. But, that's just my preference.

I think the saucer is fine, If you were to make changes to it, i would think of how the TOS reliant would work, since the constellation is essentially a kit bash of two Miranda class models.

The torpedo bay i think looks way too big. I would suggest a more "tos" like pod, rather than the bulky TMP looking ones. and both dont have to be torpedo bays, maybe make the bottom one a sensor pod?

I think with the TOS Constellation it should be a blend of TOS and TMP styles as I see her being built toward the end of TOS.

I love her so far. But here is an idea, what about her impulse engines on the rear of saucer section? Then use that area where the impulse engines are now as shuttle bay and perhaps get rid of the two port and starboard midships ones?

This is roughly how I would do it.

Main thing to do is rotate the nacelles. You may also want to look at altering them as the TMP ships nacelles are not exactly like the connie. The ends are different.

I suggest to connect the pylons at the sides of the weapons pod, not over it. ;)

The Constellation Class is one of my most favourite designs, unfortunatly whenever i go to play any model it feels really sluggish; And when i fire my weapons e.t.c as well as doing little damage to the enemy and sounds awful:hithead:

if you mean the SFRD one, Phoe...don't.  we need to fix the hardpoint.  look for the JJ or JJrefit ones instead.

better yet, just wait on the Simo Hayha   I've got a consty in the works inspired by Vladko's Last Hurrah

Well as the Constellation was Later in the TMP era..  Don't be afraid to make her a late TOS ship.  Less use of "round" and then the saucer with it's sharp edges would integrate a little more smoothly?

Another way might be something like Baz did on the JJ Constellation had a little more rounded outer edge on the saucer?  Or atleast I "think" it was a bit softer edge, I might have spent many hours looking at her but that was a very long time ago and my memory is fuzzy.

Maybe if you go "more tos", make the weapon pods significantly smaller and single tube that doesn't show much.  It seems Tos ships didn't have a lot of show as far as weapons, and TMP they showed off the weapon ports and firepower more.

Cool beans. Too bad BC's engine is too antiquated to handle normal maps or is say she needs 'em. regardless this is nice work.

If my Memory serves DJ did not make his canon. Also there are two variants of the Ambassidor so you can either build the older 1701-C version or the updated model seen later in TNG.

The Ambassidor would be a good TNG ship to cut your teeth on so I would say go for it. You will defiantly get downloads with a new "canon" version of this ship.
