Colony Wars!

Before ST-Invasion there was Colony wars! A fantastic little space sim which showed what the PS1 could do, it had everything what you expected from sci-fi on the TV at time. Little things like a good story and decent graphics at the time gave it a true sense of scale which was awsome. Did anyone else own this? If so do you have fond memories.

I owned all of them. I loved the original and Vengeance, didn't like Red Sun. I always wanted to do a remake of the game(s), but life led me on another path.

I had the original too, I loved that game, it was a ton of fun

the only one i own(yeah i still own and play it) is red sun, i didnt like the story, but some of the missions were fun to do XD, ive even managed to get the Hyper Zeroid ship, just writing this makes me wanna play XD

The original for me was the first, played nothing like it not even on the PS2 the action was immense though i didnt like Red sun I felt it deviated whaaay too much from the original. Plus the ships from the first one looked cooler.

Absolutely one of the best game series ever made. I just love listening to the music of the games while I animate.

If I ever learn to code, I'm going to make bringing this game back to its former glory a priority.

damn talk about going back in time! i LOVED colony wars, i lived off the demo that pizza hut gave out back in the day (anyone remember those?? its also the same way i got into MGS cuz THAT demo was on there as well) untill someone flat out gave me a copy of the first one, it lasted 4 months before someone sat on it and broke the disc.... but i do feel thats a series that DESERVES a modern remake, imagine a game like that with the scale that Mass effect has, couple it with a kick ass multiplayer set up.... soo wizard. (IM BRINGING IT BACK!!!)

I actually made a fan trailer for the first game a while back.

I think the toughest mission out of all three games had to be in the first game, where youre piloting the Vampire against the Communicaitons craft and the Navy Spectre fighters (I have never once beaten that mission without cheats). Who agrees/disagrees?

O noo, any mission with navy sirens were a bitch. I did that after my third attempt. 

Also and i know they'll look crap but could be at all possible to port CW1 ships to BC? Imagine the carnage!

To the first point, yea, the siren missions were pretty damn tough too.

As to the second, if there is a way, I wouldnt know, but yea, Colony Wars ships on BC...that would be so cool, no doubt.

The only issue would be the fighters as they don't translate well into BC
