wow thats looking like a pretty sharp ship, me likey :D i can tell the textures are gonna be VERY interesting.

also dont worry about doing the animated textures for the inferno, i think its a better idea if some base texturing was done, and then the animated/opaque textures were revisited after the ship had some colour to her.

Farshot, quick question to put my mind at ease, is the inferno still being activley worked on or is it on the back burner until the afore mentioned problems with texturing are solved?

Well I was really hoping I could do my texture plans.  No one had done them before quite like I envisioned.  I'm just stuck between a rock and a hard place - delay working on it, or get it released but not how I envisioned it. :idk:

why not just show progress with the texturing? i know you had started a texture for the saucer before you even modeled it, i just wanna see some colour on her.

New Spacedock anyone?







She's been photo-matched for accuracy and I'm fairly happy with the results.  The goal is to make the most detailed and sexiest ESD for BC yet, while still making her playable and damageable.  She will likely be around 30k polygons at the end, but if my mapping scheme works out, she'll make hardly a dent on your computer's memory.

The best part?  Wiley is texturing her. :D

I know requests are  no-no ( :P) but if you were at all interested in having this replace the stock Starbase in Single Player, my one piece of advice is that you have to size and orient it exactly as the stock base, otherwise the hardpoints and mission scripts don't work.   That's been problem with all the other bases made recently; they may look great but simply don't work because you can never get the stock scripts to work with them.

I'd much rather this be a separate starbase and TMP one at that with the correct scaling. TU has all ready done an excellant TNG one which replaces the stock starbase, I say let this be it's own thing.  :)

Actually I was thinking of three versions.  TMP scaled, TNG scaled, and a refit.

Like I said, all the post-stock bases are great but none of them can replace the stock one in single player campaign game for reasons I mentioned above.   :)  It's not a matter of canon scaling: any replacement has to match the stock precisely, or hardpoints etc won't work.   If Farshot is thinking of doing three versions anyway, it wouldn't be that much more trouble to do a stock-match  ;)

Be glad if you could pull off a TMP scaled one. When I did the dock for SFRD I scaled it for the galaxy and them tried scaling down for the connie but would not load even with the HP altered. Think there maybe a min size to a starbase.
