I'm interested in Excalibur.  What is it about?

Wait...what? You mean this massive evolution of BC by current and former community members that's been going on for no less than four years now? ;) http://www.stexcalibur.com/
All hail the messiah!

Small update:
Retextured some parts of the model.  Making the "plated" look to the station, hopefully not too much.  There are some areas that I have to redo, some only need touch ups.

I don't mind one bit.  I was going to make the Ambi with semi-transparent bussard glass and model the inside.  I've done something similar before.  Even tried it with one of Adonis's models...didn't come out perfect, don't think he used it though.  (Was a daedalus class, textured animated bussard spinning thingy, with animated blinking lights inside and a semi transparent bulb on the outside.)  I like to play around with the models in nifskope (NiAlphaProperty) to see what kind of wonders that haven't been tried yet.

So, if you're making an Ambi that way, I would love to give a hand with the nif model.  Or I can show you what needs to be modified.

Update:
I hath obliterated a bunch of stuff and made it better.  I hath the technology.  I can make it better....okay, so maybe not better.   I can make it faster....okay, not that either.  :P
Still have to make changes to the warp nacelle, finish off the saucer section, fix many little mistakes.  The ship is sitting at 6.5k polys.  Pretty good me thinks.

Oh crud, looks like my DS9 Model is on hold.  My external HD decided to forget it's partitions, this morning.  And most of my work is on the external drive.

While I'm waiting from my external drive to be recovered, I decided to get back to work on an old project...Cordy's Playground.  I'm filling it with strange things.  Everyone is working on new ships, bases, etc...but what about places to explore.  So, Look at the pictures below...The first one a bunch of green crystals, 2nd is a red colored gravity well.  I just called it a Spatial Anomaly.  The 3rd picture is another set of crystals.  The last one is the Travel pod, I had completely forgot about this one and put it in game.

Much more planned for Cordy's Playground.  I may even put candy canes in there.  lol

Edit:

Something Adonis asked me years ago to try out.  I never did check to see if he released this ship this way or not.
Anyway...The rotating bussards is made of 5 parts.  Outermost layer is a red dome w/ glow.  2nd layer is another dome with an animated texture, 3rd layer is a set of crystals with no glow and the 4th layer is the crystals configured to disappear when not glowing and vice versa when glowing.  And of course, the back part of the dome (behind the blinking crystals) is a flat glow map.  Took me a while to figure out how to configure it this way, but it sure looks cool and should give BC a more dynamic look to the TOS bussards.

That is awesome stuff!
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

If Superman is on that Akira class in the first picture, then he is screwed. :p

Awesome stuff. Maps seem to get overlooked these days.

Cordy's Playground, will have new unique models that present differently in Bridge Commander.  Watch the video below, there will be more variations.

that is.... WOW.

This brings up something I've always wondered about BC ships... could we ever have dynamic impulse engine color/glow depending on the speed set.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

I've wondered the same but I don't know if there is any game controls that effect the model directly.
I've seen animation in the textures before not directly control by interface in any way that I can think of.  I wouldn't think it impossible just a manner of programing.

A friend gave me a suggestion, to apply these changes (crystal field in the video) to the crystalline entity model I made with SBP07.  I think it's a good idea and I already gave the entity a textured animation to give it the look, like the light is pulsating.  So far, it looks really cool.  I was thinking about the "dark matter crystals?" in my video...for the crystal entity.  I think I will give it a try.  Since we don't know too much about the entity, could be an interesting concept.

@Nebula
I chatted to Mario about that before, he doesn't believe there is a way for the python scripts to access the nif model to change a specific part of the model.

But, I wonder if there is a work around.  I'll have to keep this in mind.  If a script can (Silent Running mod) can access the texture, could a script access a specific texture...say "Impulse_glow.tga" and adjust the alpha maps in percentage.  I know it can turn it on and off, will have to find out more about that.
