I'm thinking that is a good point. The reason I added the red Klingon symbol is that it gives a nod to the original Maveq's bridge window....from a distance it looks like the Maveq bridge. When you get close you see it is actually the symbol.

Ok, progress pics. I'm working on the ventral hull details, still have more work to do on the impulse frame and a few other bits here and there. I've also included some low light shots so you can view the current lighting setup.

Thanks guys. I did make quite a few changes to the textures, some detail added here and there, and I removed the lighting from the "windows" in the aft hull after looking closely at some detail shots of the BOP...most shots had them dark, only a few had them lit.

Later I will post pics of the changes for your perusal.

hope you don't mind me commenting... the ship is great but your mention of the windows glow got me thinking...

in the times we see inside Klingon ships its a dark red interior lighting... would it look better with a lower intensity red glow for the windows?

just a thought but obviously this is your ship and im not meaning any disparagement to your work... just a thought.

I had thought about this too and I was thinking of recommending a middle ground - a peachy-orange color.

Both really good points...do you guys have any shots of that? The only ones I saw (mostly from DS9 or SFS) had the windows lit a white usually, with a few flirts of color here and there. I have been scouring for good shots everywhere but most of the shots come from that show or the movie.

On a side note, I think I added too much detail to the hull...too many greebles. I havent posted pics yet, but I think I might clean them up a bit...a bit more plain probably looked better. If you guys want to see the current hull textures I can post some pics so you can judge for yourselves.

And please...comment all you want.

I think having the external view of the windows in bright white (canon or not) is completely inaccurate compared to what we've seen (in canon) on how things looks inside:

A lot of modders use a blueish swirly texture for Federation windows, which usually comes across looking pretty good. A yellow-red hue shift of that texture probably wouldn't look too bad for Klinks.

To be fair, in it's first appearance the BoP interior had whiter walls and some white lights in there too. The models lighting was probably built with that in mind but never got updated.

I can try it out with red windows. Right now the lions share of windows are dark.

Ok, here are pics of the current status of texture work on the mesh. Still quite a bit to do, some corrections here and there, more detail, a few changes, etc. I may still move the "spare tire" assembly back on to the wings, not sure yet.

Note the dark accents on the aft quarter. I may have gone a bit overboard there. Also note that the wing cannons are very light on detail, and I may keep them pretty clean, since most of the studio models show the cannons to be mostly smooth.

Don't overthink it too much. Most everyone would agree that your Klinks are easily a 9/10. She looks fine whatever you may do to her at this point. ;)

Ok, appreciate the comments, and I am pretty close to finishing up the textures on this ship. Probably one or two more days and it will be done.

I also noticed that the pics I have been posting are probably too large, so sorry about that...Ill stick to 800X600 if you guys think this has been picture overload.

I might try a fed next...wanted to maybe work on my Defiant refit. I'm going to post concept pics shortly.
