this article gave me the idea to create this thread...
What's the worst Star Trek episode of all time? (http://io9.com/whats-the-worst-star-trek-episode-of-all-time-514338294)
read the comments people have posted on that page - some of them are friggin hilarious!! lol
sooo - which episode, in your opinion, was the shittiest of all the series? or, pick one from each series if youd like...
discuss... :)
and if possible, please include a link somewhere that has the show's synopsis, erview, youtube, whatever - any reference, in case others dont know exactly which one you are referring to...

TOS: Spock's Brain (http://www.tvrage.com/Star_Trek/episodes/162363)
TNG: Sub Rosa (http://www.tvrage.com/Star_Trek-The_Next_Generation/episodes/162848)
DS9: Move Along Home (http://www.tvrage.com/Star_Trek-Deep_Space_Nine/episodes/162396)
VOY: Threshold (http://www.tvrage.com/Star_Trek-Voyager/episodes/162891)
ENT: A Night in Sickbay (http://www.tvrage.com/Star_Trek-Enterprise/episodes/162593)
I think most of the above is rather self-explanatory. For the Sub Rosa episode, I felt it was very "un-Trek". More like a mystery/horror story, than a Star Trek story. Move Along Home was just... weird.
-
I guess Sub Rosa beats them all
Move Along Home is excusable... it was season 1 of a brand new show... shit happens.
I do remember bits of it (ninety-freaking-three! heawlee sheez Ae'm ewld!) and I felt it weird too, but mainly because I watched it dubbed, and the voice acting of the time was rather laughable... bad translation, bland emotions, shitty sfx...
but airing Sub Rosa on season SIX of a show that had been to hell and back already? :banghead:
Threshold deals with Trek facts, so it's not entirely "off" the series... it's still "on" theme, but "badly played out"
and A Night in Sickbay is similar to TNG: Justice.... people walking onto an alien world, being exposed to their traditions (environment) and suffering for some minor matter which only takes a big change on the behavior of one of the characters when it should be solved more easily by just realizing the danger and putting aside their differences.
again... well thought and scripted, badly played

but airing Sub Rosa on season SIX of a show that had been to hell and back already? :banghead:
It's worse than that; Sub Rosa is the 14th episode of Season SEVEN :D
-
see? Ae'm ewld! :funny
-
Not necessarily the "worst", but imo the most booooring episodes ever were:
The Muse (http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/The_Muse_%28episode%29) were Jakes muse sucks the live out of him,
Strange New World (http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Strange_New_World_%28episode%29), Ent Season 1, were the crew is trapped inside some cave, having hallucinations.

No no no and again no. "Code of honour" from TNG season 1 is the worst. How that piece of shit even made it past a first draft is beyond me.
-
I would've figured by at least the first filmed scene they would've shut it down. How they let that go to air is beyond me.

Indeed. Nowadays it'd get a whole show shut down!

Uh, remind me which one that was?
-
Tasha Yar fighting another woman, using poisonous weapons.
-
I'd say Into Darkness, but I really don't want to start a flamewar.
Shades of Gray has to be my vote, you can't get much worse then a clip show. *cough*unless you are JJ Abrams*cough*
-
Is no one going to mention 'Too short a season' or 'Skin of Evil' or 'Shades of Grey'? For every great TNG episode there are at least two that stink big time!
Trying to think of really bad DS9 or Voyager episodes. There are some pretty weak ones which have been mentioned but to me even 'Threshold' is just about watchable.
The only one that stands out in Enterprise for me is 'Acquisition'.
-
Uh, remind me which one that was?
The one that Mr Frakes called "that racist piece of sh*t".
-
guys - please remember:
and if possible, please include a link somewhere that has the show's synopsis, erview, youtube, whatever - any reference, in case others dont know exactly which one you are referring to...
so this way here no one has to ask that question "which one was that?"
it is just thoughtful...

OH GOD. Ugh, that episode was soooo stupid. Maybe not "Spock's Brain" stupid, but still stupid.
I'd say Into Darkness, but I really don't want to start a flamewar.

Now now. There's actually a lot of thought behind Into Darkness, but I won't go into detail. Mainly cause I'm trying to write an article defending certain points of the movie, but that'll happen later. Frankly, I don't know why even more Trek fans aren't flocking to it, it's the first time in a long time we've had any political or social commentary in Star Trek. But, getting OT. Which series was Shades of Gray from?
-
TNG
Season 2 finale. Clip show, primarily due to the writers strike of that year.
-
No no no and again no. "Code of honour" from TNG season 1 is the worst. How that piece of shit even made it past a first draft is beyond me.
The same writer wrote a Season 1 episode of Stargate SG-1 about space Mongolians being sexist.

"Threshold", what a mess.
I've always found "Spock's Brain" to be in the "so bad it's good" category.
-
I don't think Star Trek should have a "so bad it's good" category. One reason I don't enjoy TOS. Most of it is just bad. There are some very valid reasons that show never got past Season Three.
Street Fighter the Movie? Definitely so bad it's good.
-
I find with TOS if you look past the awful acting in some places and the out dated treatment of women on the show there are some great stories. The second pilot is an example. Imagine having to kill your best friend to save your crew.
-
Well, I'll have to think about this for a minute.
TOS: Turnabout Intruder
TNG: The Game
DS9: Move Along Home
VOY: Threshold
ENT: Just one? Really? :funny
:dontcare:
-
Oh don't make me create lists in order to show off that Enterprise wasn't alone with bad episodes. She didn't get a full run, so less of the bad episodes faded away.

Finally some support for Enterprise! It had great episodes as well as some real stinkers but that is true of all 5 live action shows!
-
I rewatched Season One again. I must say I enjoyed it much more than the first three seasons of TNG and all of TOS. That honestly surprised me.
-
it occurs to me sat here i need to re-watch the other shows lol cant remember any bad ones though i know there are some but i just recently re-watched Enterprise so:
Enterprise worst episode(s): (ending of Zero Hour) storm front 1 and 2
These are the voyages: a good episode but i feel it is more of a TNG episode than and ENT one lol
