Do what you want :), but all of the additional damage textures will be done by me. I also have altered models for the damaged areas, but no MVAM so far. I would like to get it done. I'm trying to remember when I last worked on it......
There are a load of Delta Quadrant ships on BCFiles made by Queball a while back, Nihidron, Kazon etc.
Might be easier to fill in the gaps rather than re-invent the wheel. ;)

The Raven was the first starfleet vessels ship the borg ever assimilated i believe, though don't quote me on that one. That being the ship that Annika Hansen was on. And if you dont know who that is, you need a slap :P

I am not sure which ships you need exactly, but we're also working on a Delta Quadrant pack for Legacy.
These are the ships we're working on: Krenim timeship, Hirogen ships, vidian ships and the station from the Tink Tank episode!

I think the only thing that still needs tweaking on these ships are the glows
I think the little green glows look a little "blotchy", like polka dots, maybe enhance them a little by.... oh, i don't know... spread them out a bit? Or maybe just dim them down a touch? I can't really say. :/
In any case, the cubes still look pretty cool. :)

But the entire model has got to be the size of a sun, but 2 or 3 times the polys, it is turning out to be a problem. With just the hub (no sun) at what we think is full size crashed BC for me. I then scaled it down to 0.1% of its original size and it worked. So we will try it some more, but its not looking too good at the moment. Sorry for getting all your hopes up.

It may be the model that's putting you off, it does have some parts which are wrong which ill get fixed. The textures are the correct colour with shapes, but your textures are completely off. I know lets trade ive got decent textures, you've got a decent model :D lol o/j

Well, with recent experiments, I really don't think size matters with BC. A full size Transwarp Hub would almost certainly not work if it did.

If its one thing that are a pain in the proverbial backside its borg textures. I wasnt happy with the current borg textures i done so i revamped them slighty. The feedback I've got so far say its an improvement, but i want opinions from you guys. The first pic is the old textures, the next 2 are the revamped textures.

Well, there has'nt been any updates from me for a couple of days because my C: drive decided to die
Well, there has'nt been any updates from me for a couple of days because my C: drive decided to die (and yes i tried all the little tricks like the freezer) but in the end i was unable to recover anything, fortunate for you guys the Borg Ships were on my G: drive because thats where my "Test Install" was located,Aw man ! that $ucks, I hope you had that bird of prey on G drive as well as some other cool stuff... but unfortunatelly this kind of sh** happens.
But the things that wernt in the test stage and on my C: were lost, which was about 25 finished models and WIPs which were going to be included in ds9FX xtended and intended for personal/independant release, all up about 6 months of work, BUT a few people have had copies of these on there computers that i sent out awhile ago for one reason or another, so with any luck i will be able to recover those,
Anyway, i thought i would explain why it appears i have been "slack" lately,
So expect some Borg updates pretty soon which will Assimilate your eye balls!
please let the next post be from someone working on this pack with some sort of new information about the progess of this work...
even if it takes a few days, please let the thread rest for a bit until then...

about the Nova - the deflector should be blue, no? IIRC, it was very much like the Intrepid's...
If you ignore the damage scars in the following pictures, then you may notice that a few small texture tweaks may be nedded, not that is anything wrong with Jb06's textures at all. I just thing that they could use more depth, as well as speculars, lol.
You missed the registery stripes on the underside of the Eqionox's nacelles.

And the brown/gold (cannot remember Trek accurate name) bits on the warp nacelles should be indented instead of textured on, if you understand what I mean by indented. Same with the bussard collectors/ramscoops.
All in all, it looks awesome. Just those few texture and model tweaks I mentioned and you would be golden.
PS: Is there going to be modeled RCS thrusters on the Voyager in this pack, as well as those 'ribs' (raised lines on the saucer section of Voyager that look like phaser strips but are basically just ribs)?
PPS: And is there going to be a version of the Equinox with battle damage?
Let's see...another Fed ship that appeared on VOY. Hmmm...

That just leaves the Prometheus and the Rhode Island, unless you're thinking outside the box and going with ships like the Akira, Nebula, and Defiant-class ships from "Message in a Bottle."
there will only be one version of the YOH Voyager in this pack as the MB's are rising by the minute, + i dont think 2 would be really needed.

That's a known bug in MVAM, you can get round it in the plugin, by capturing the torpedo counts before seperation and reappliing them post seperation.
Does require some scripting knowledge to amend the plugin.
it looks good. did the Prometheus have a more defined aztec, though? I've heard that it's very subtle but quite complex.

I think the hull could use some dirtying up. I know you've only been at it for a very short period of time, but just for future reference... the Equinox is a ship that's been through hell and back. She'll have hull breaches and the sort, as you've already added, but perhaps you could also add more... "dirt & grime" on the hull? Make it look aged along the seams, etc. I think that would authenticate it beautifully. Just a thought. You've done very well so far. :]

yup your right those are windows, looked at the mesh in MPE
i suspect that is how the mesh was mapped, fixing it would entail serious changes to the mapping, which would could effect the entire ships textures

That would be the "alcove" area in front of the deflector. The Sovereign has a similar area. It is not a problem with texture or mesh I believe. This retexture looks great I might add.

all i seem to be good at is pointing out obnoxious errors that no one will care about ingame.

I dunno if these have been suggested but... how about adding in the Borg Modified Voyager (Scorpion), The End Game Voyager and the Voyager where everyone is evil (forgot the name of the episode, the back up copy of the doc is found like 700 years into the future).
She's gorgeous. Great work! To quote Cmdr Riker, 'tough little ship'. I know he was talking about the Defiant but I think the same can apply here.
Can something be done to the deflector to make it look a bit better? It's not that you guys have done bad work, but the deflector design just doesn't seem, with its limited details, to lend itself well to textures. Perhaps spending a couple hundred more polys and actually modeling it out would really bring that part of the ship up to the quality of the rest of it.
It turns out jb was talking about a completely different thing to what I thought he was! I'll make the changes later on.lol you guys are working too hard and juggling too much so everything else is getting confusing :P j/k

doesn't feel right. looks "placed". compared to the other scarring.
It's almost the exact length of the ship name and .registry
doesn't cover any of the name or registry (not a necessity)
while most of the other scarring appear to be individual barrages
or pinpointed areas.

Well anyway as you can see from the screenshot.... the top is the ours & the bottom is from the show. The damage across the top of the regs isnt supposed to cover any part of it & is supposed to be darker than the rest of the scarring. I really can't see anything wrong with it.

Allot of work is going into this, and it looks real good.. the lines on the rhode island are somewhat lazy and im not a fan of your hull texture (base) but overall it is the finest version i have seen, the model looks super clean and you have done a really great job. This is a thread i will watch closely.
Just had an idea... although the KM was great I found it to be a bit bloated and adding the whole dqp to that will (IMO) make it unstable. Will the dqp be able to run on a clean install? I'm not trying to start any heated debates here, but if Bren perceived it as coming off as a touch disrespectful, then its possible others will. I did when I saw it a while back but didn't say anything, which is why I cookied Bren for standing up. In the interests of maintaining a positive and respectful community, perhaps it would be a good idea to rest on the side of caution? We especially don't want to accidentally disrespect one of the grandfathers of BC modding. Let's not forget that LC laid a great deal of the foundation of all the things we do these days. I think we'd all hope that future modders would go to at least the minimal lengths to ensure that we are all respected for what we do?

Think how the Vesuvi Dust Cloud drains your shields (it does it in SP and QB). Maybe you can duplicate that affect with the Malon ship (or maybe system if you're doing that one). Just an idea.

The equinox impulse manifold is still the wrong shape, but you've got it right for the Rhode Island. (not to be a nit pick as I really don't care, but if you're aiming for the highest quality, I figured I should mention it. :] ) As depicted below, the impulse manifold is actually more of a flatter rectangle with a "black-and-dark-orange" stripe pattern for the manifold aperature itself. What you have looks cool, no doubt, but on a personal level I prefer as it appeared in the show. Good work so far guys. :]

does my memory fail if I claim that when the Voyager crashed to the Krenim timeship, it had only one nacelle left?It had both, but once the bow of the ship impacted the Timeship, the starboard nacelle was sheared off by the sudden velocity change (a very nice move by the FX department, if I do say so myself).
And, if I'm not mistaken, the Studio models for the Krenim warship and Hirogen hunter are the same - except the Hirogen ship has some extra spikes and modules added? So maybe a Krenim warship isn't too far off??

In the Vaaduar system you clould add a realistically sized planet (HUGE) with a low density nebula around it to simulate the thick atmosphere
Ships could land on it (if such a thing is possible) and there could even be ground structures that could launch Vaaduar fighters.
You could have a battle in the atmosphere like in that episode

Yeah its possible, but how exactly would you want it to be engaged?
Randomly? Kinda like a random and rare "Caretaker Event", more or less what happens with Voyager. In this case, since GC's travelling plugins don't take part on selecting destination or engaging, you would need a different script (probably a Autoload one) to handle the "caretaker event", randomly picking a ship and sending it somewhere :P
On your own? Like you're near the caretaker array so you "turn it on" to send you somewhere. Easy, this would be pretty much like the Graviton catapult is.

Just to let everyone know why's there's been no updates the past week, it's not that there is no work being done, actually it's the exact opposite. Most of it has been scripting... meaning all 20 star systems have been finished which means GC compatible, races etc ;)Considering how much work have been done since the beginnig I guess putting it all toghether and adding even more won't be a 5-minutes work ;) take your time and let your mod become no.1 in a very close future ;)

There was once a Kazon Predator / Kazon Carrier available for Klingon Academy as one of the last Next Generation Academy modpacks, but those have largely disappeared it seems along with the rest of the KA community.
I've spent literally hours searching online to no avail. So if you guys have no anticipated release date could I at least trouble you to borrow the Predator for a few minutes? :-)

Another alternative, is "Kelemane's Planet". No proof of if that was the planet name, but it was mentioned in the episode. "I, son of Kelemane." Ofcourse, it could just be the name of the guys father, but still.naming newly discovered land/planet after the one who discovered it is quite popular (America = Amerigo Vespuci)
Besides which, there's a "Sherman's Planet" in Star Trek, so it's not unheard of to include the word Planet in the name of said planet :P

There also seems to be an interesting slit like window comparment in the front. I'm even wondering if it's the same ship.
It's a good straight forward model but can the dome on the top to smoother? The squares are a bit to obvious.

If I ever get around to making a new Intrepid, we almost certainly will have all versions seen. However, if I don't (which, if things continue the way they're going, is a distinct possibility), then it's not possible.

This all Sounds Really amazing I love how u got the correct colour scheme for the Hirogen vessel, it was such a contrast against Voyagers beauty of a hull. Great work.

I don't think the window pictures are necessary. It seems distracting because they're obviously aren't going to move approapriately to the angle you view them in game.
I suppose you could actully make rectangular rooms on the interior and put the images on the floors and that might be an equivalent effect but I think the standard effect of glowing windows is just fine for me.

3D printscreen is a method of capturing all onscreen 3D data into a single file, for example, 3DviaPrintscreen, this saves all 3D screencaps as a .3DXML file, which can then be converted in max with the appropriate plugins.

Well here's the update i mentioned. I realised the other day that something wasnt right with the hull lines and windows on the back of the spine on the CGI + LC V1.0, but i couldnt put my finger on what. Once i sobered up :P I figured out that there was an extra deck in there which threw the windows out of alignment.
So I've fixed that and now it looks much better + the new deflector just got installed. Still got a lot to go, but I'm juggling 8/9 ships at once :P
Im also going to try powered down versions of nacelles, deflectors and see if the new lighting technique can make them look powered up, but Ive no idea if this will work.

Let me just say that I'm absolutely amazed by the high quality of this work. When i first got BC i was impressed with the quality for that time, but seeing work like this being done makes me realize just how far this game has come and how much further it'll go.
Well the problem is, that the engines are only powered in the dark, which is extremely pointless.

So, I've been watching this project for a LONG time. too sad that every engine has its limits.That's true, but how many times have the limits on the BC engine been tested and the limits redefined? I remember the KM Voyager with moving nacelles was a really big step and alternates to warp like slipstream was too. Now we have a wormhole that activates whenever we fly close to it and brings us to a new map without any buttons needed. I think we still have a few more years before the engine reaches its full potential and even then that wouldn't stop people from making mods with that limit in place.
Am definitely going to have to watch more Voyager with the CG Shots...did the deflector actually glow that much???
Oh and Just so you know im not lieing about the model :)
Thanks a lot for the deflector images, so looking at that, its similar to the V1 deflector glow, but this time it won't be baked on ;)
The spec are finihed, deflector glow has been altered, along with the colour of the nacelles + deflector to match. Pretty happy with it now :D

Would be really awesome, if you could texture the "cut" in the saucer edge (port side, aft) so that you can see the decks, and possibly forcefields :)

I'm not sure about the damage tho, I think those burns on hull should be a little bit darker

Don't think the Armored version has been done in high detail yet, and I have yet to see a proper "deploy armor" animation.

Increasing the resolution would only mean slowing the game down. too many big textures on an old game... nope. wouldnt be too wise IMO
Indeed they used to be 4096 x 4096 but slowed down the game sigficantly, especially with these planet's having speculars as well.

The Delta Flyer is one good looking Boat. I would assume that Starfleet adopted her as a new class of Runabout when Voyager got home. I look forward to playing around with this one :thumbsup:

Yeah...the bussard animation is actually a part of the model itself...not a script.
Its a bit of both actually, but considering the damage is spread over 4 separate texture files which would mean another 64 large files..... I Don't Think Sooooo :P

Love the new Akira JB, got some questions though.
1. Why are the four upper front torpedo launchers not used? (I assume they are supposed to be launchers)
2. How does the hardpoint even work? The front torpedo launchers are listed as pulse weapons, and scripted as such, but still works with the torpedo master node, which doesn't make any sense :/

Yeah testing here, only had some problems sometimes with loading maps like the unicomplex or the transwarp hub, but that's because my bc is quite corrupt (aftermath install on top of the kobaya stuff).
There are sometimes things that i would change in the hardpoint file: the kazon for example. Their weapons are mostly fast. We see the kazon raiders fire their twin beams rapidly (counts for the mother ship too) and in the mod, it just fires "normal". Those are the things i would change.
Tested voyager, equinox damaged, maquis raider, krenim battleship, cube, unicomplex, vaadwaur ship, think tank and the dauntless already. But i'm doing this on a hotel room (waiting sometimes etc) so have some patience here :P

The reason that its not out, is because there were some things that needed to be adjusted. Strengths, speeds from ships, and even stations. You don't want a station that does loops around your ship :D
