I really like this design! Personally, I think they should've gone with this version instead of the one that is considered to be the official Ambassador class. Perhaps this could be considered as a MK-III upgrade that would have been used to replace the lost NCC-1701 C before the design of the Galaxy class came into being; or was a competition to the Galaxy class as a new era of flag ships during that time in the mid 24th century?
From what I read over at Sci-Fi Meshes, Andy has always considered this a prototype of the conventional version we all know. Perhaps it utilized tech that was far too advanced for the era, hence it was reworked and made into the Galaxy design at a later time.
That Design looks really similar to Dj's Alberta class. At least to my eyes. I don't much care for the nacelles and pylons though. (On the concept, not DJ's ship)
Epic to be exact, no offence to the Cannon Enterprise C, but this design looks way better
I think, while it may look good, it doesn't fit into any design lineage. The canon Ambassador was a plausible stepping stone between the Constitution and the Galaxy.
I must admit, there are two things on this ship I don't like, well, three:
1. The nacelles look strange, like a mix of Constitution, Excelsior and what the Ambassador turned out to be.
2. The Saucer impulse engines stick out a bit too far in my opinion; too Constitution refit style in my opinion, Excelsior style would have been better.

. . . and the third would be?
the only thing i dont really like about Probert's design is the deflector dish... it just looks silly to me personally... everything else is cool tho, IMO...
if it had the deflector dish that DJ's Alberta Class has instead, i would be much more fond of the ship...
