Title: Star Trek Remastered - Canon Retcons? Opinion Thread
Post by: Tuskin38 on December 13, 2010, 01:16:13 PM
I was wondering what someone of your opinions on some of the model changes, and if you think they should be considered Retconned canon.

Some examples are the The Woden (http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Woden) from the Ultimate Computer being changed into a Antares Class Freighter from The Animated Series. The starbase from the same episode (Starbase 6 (http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/starbase_6)) being changed into a design from a Novel cover.

There was also a new Orion ship.  http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/File:Orion_scout_ship,_remastered.jpg

Amok Time Remastered also showed ShiKahr as it did in the Animated Series.

I do too, having a DY-100 (All built pre-2000) still around, and on active duty would be daft.  The new Orion ship is good too, better than just rotating lights in the original.

The new "Starbase 6" is also good, the K-7 type always seemed too small, even in the 2200's, to be much more than an outpost.

I love it. I just have season 3 to get. Seeing the Enterprise in all her glory is great but what I love is that is the new effects add to the story ever so slightly. They don't change the stories being told but let us enjoy them that much more.
