Title: What type type of ship will starfleet lean to
Post by: deadthunder2_0 on November 24, 2009, 11:33:20 PM
Post your ideas and the ships armament.

mine
Ship-U.S.S. Legacy NCC-1120B
Class-Sovereign
Subclass-Artillery Boat, STE starship
Armament-300 Cannon burst, 100 standard Type 9 Photon Torpedoes, 18 Phaser arrays. Deflector Shields, Ablative Armour and SIC (Stealth in combat) systems including a very dark impulse glow, duller transparent aluminum over the bussards and nacelle grills. also instead of windows it has large view screens in all rooms that in normal Sovereign classes would have windows. the deflector also has an anti-light coating. in hense if this ship was made for bridge commander (it is a wip) it would have no glows.

Isn't this just a "Future Enterprise" discussion under a new name?

I'd say Galen/Kaden's "LEGACY-CLASS" from SFM Forums, or the Eclipse-Class from another thread here at B.C.C.

Only problem with that ship is the saucer. It looks unbalanced, if you know what I mean.

It looks like an Intrepid mated with a Sovereign... To solve the 'unbalanced' issue, I'd simply make the nacelles a bit longer.

My ship? My guess at a future ship would probably be a fast escort, just to compliment the BIG ships we have here. Perhaps a refit Intrepid? (NOT the STO one) I really can't be bothered with details as I'm at college and should be doing work.

I think the Luna class is a perfect example of what Starfleet will lean to. Small, fast ships with enough weaponry to defend themselves. That was the Galaxy's (slightly exaggerated) original purpose
