in Wiley's thread, there has been mention of the differences between the 2 Sovereign Class ships...
you know, i must embarrassingly admit, i never really took notice to the FC and Nem Sovereign Classes as far as how they are different...
to me, they seem pretty much the same - i was wondering if anyone could point out the differences? please use as much reference material as youd can (pics, screenshots, schematics, etc)... i am curious and would like to see how different they are (if it is very much so or just a few slight things) that i never took notice to before... then again, i have a habit of missing things that are blindingly obvious sometimes lol

The biggest differences are the twin torpedo launchers added aft of the bridge (a location I really don't agree with as they're inconveniently right above an airlock), the addition of phasers to the nacelle pylons, and also the warp nacelles were moved forward slightly.
I know DITL isn't exactly known for accuracy but the article "Sovereign Changes" over there is actually quite thorough about the differences.

Rather than elaborate, I'll just point here. If you read this article, you'll know everything worth knowing plus about 10x more. ;)

Of course they never did update that article with the now released orthographic view of the nem sov.
-
And of course different bridges
-
what about the bridge?? it's the same... unless you're talking about the inside which only has a diff view screen and updated displays.

And the handrails...

All the colors in the Nemesis Sovereign were changed. In FC, the colors were mostly blues and lighter reds (I think) and in Nemesis everything was deep red and brown.
-
I've always liked the FC version better.

I very much liked the look of some parts of the Nemesis interior. The conference room in particular. It looked more statesman-esqe, which was important since one of her major roles was first contact duties and ambassadorial trips.
-
On the whole I prefer the First Contact version, much better looking, but I would keep the nacelle pylon phasers added in Nemesis since they take care of a pretty bad blind spot. I'd probably keep the shuttle bay torpedo launchers as well but lose the ones added behind the bridge - the positioning just doesn't make sense, since any torpedoes stored there would be blocking the airlock right below the tubes...
-
I doubt it blocks it... you could have a roof rail for the torps or the torp tunnel in the ship could be in the airlock chamber... the door and area around it looks like it has enough room.
-
or it could be this design where the torpedoes are transferred into the tube from the side
