Nix got an update from Tiq's family. Sadly not looking to good for a fellow BC brother. If any of you are friends with him on Facebook then please send messages so his family can pass them on. Below is the reply Nix got from his relative.
Brent is still in Life Care Hospital and is now in Pallitive Care. He is in a lot of pain so he is under a lot of pain meds. He had another rough night last night so Jtoy is going to stay the night with him tonight. He is not well enough to have the radiation treatments. Any cards that are coming into him are being read to him by his Mom. Cards can be sent to my address, so if you need it just message me.
-
:( This saddens me, I feel for him and his family and I do hope he'll get better

-
Don't sweat it dude we all have our crosses to bare. At least you asked for an update, his illness is a little to close to home for me at the moment.
-
So hope that he gets better soon.
-
Oh man that doesn't sound too good at all. :( Come on you can pull through this Tiq!
-
I dont know what to say other than get better soon.
I would never have gotten where i am in bc moding with out Tiqhud's help, he inspired me to learn the Hard-pointing game and with his help developed the spec sheets sfrd and sfsy work to.

The center seat sits empty without you Tiq, you can fight this thing!

To all of Brents Star Trek and Facebook friends, Brent passed away around 1:30 am this morning with his mother and sister Jtoy Chapman Toller by his side. His brother John Louis Chapman and I were on our way back to the hospital when he passed. Thank you all for your prayers and comments. We all lost an awesome son, brother and freind. We will be posting the arrangements here as soon as the plans are finalized.
... I cannot find words fitting to express how sorry I am for Brent and his family ...
May he rest in peace forever.
-
condolences seem inadequate
the community here has lost a great Bc Comrade.
-
This is very sad news, indeed.
My condolences
It's when something like this happens (to close friends or relatives), and you can't do anything about it,
that hurts the most
-
I will try and keep SFSY going in his hounor. He may not have made ship but he sure made them fly. I have lost a friend and partner. May he rest in peace.
-
This is so sad news. He was a great guy and a valuable team member of DS9FX.
Rest in peace friend :(
-
Oh no..... Brent, we will miss you greatly. We leave so much undone in life, yet at its conclusion our work is finished. You were a great friend and inspiration.
-
I.... I just... :C
-
To quote Bones from TWOK-- "He's really not dead, as long as we remember him."
-
Funny you should use -that- quote. I watched Wrath of Khan just yesterday (before reading this thread). Incredibly sad :(
-
"To absent friends"
He was always very polite and helpful when I asked him for help. A great guy.
-
Condolences also to Brent's family and loved ones across the pond. I hope they realise what a valued friend and colleague he was to many of us in the BC and Trek community. And that he has left a lasting legacy.
-
I just heard about this through Phoenix Bondi on Facebook.
I didn't even know Tiq was sick, let alone that he had passed away. :(
R.I.P Brent.
I wish I had known him better. :(
-
Wish I took the opportunity to work with him while he was still with us. He's in Shakespeare's undiscovered country now. Miss you.
-
I have no idea what to say, it will be awfully quiet with out him. :(
-
I am sorry to hear of Tiqhud's passing. He was a great friend on BCC, a great hardpointer, and was always generous with his compliments of everyone's models. Please pass along my condolences to his family.
In honor of Tiqhud, upon completion of my Poseidon Class, I will dedicate a registry to him, the USS Tiqhud NCC-31514. May he rest in peace, and enjoy the company of Star Trek legends Gene Roddenberry, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Majel Barrett Roddenberry, and all the other actors and actresses that have passed away from this life.
-
He's with Ricardo Montalban, Gene Roddenberry, Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, James Doohan and Deforest Kelley now. :(
-
Another one gone. Damn :(
-
I might not have known Tiqhud that long, but i know this: We may have lost a friend, but the skies have won a star.
-
I was hoping the new posts here was going to be news that he was doing better but to have read that he had passed... RIP Tiq. I didn't know you but you will be missed regardless.
-
I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed. :(

For many years he made my ships
I'm at a loss right now. Lost my beloved mum to this evil cancer in September last year and now my SFSY partner and friend. Very difficult to think about going on but it is what he would have wanted so on we will go. I will make a shuttle in his honour as he liked the support craft best.
-
I will make a shuttle in his honour as he liked the support craft best.
I might make a ship too.
-
I still can't believe it ...
-
i wish we could all do somthing together to honor him, maybe all get onto teamspeak *i can supply* one eve just to remenis, SFSY have lost a valiblue asset, me and baz can keep making models but now the main part is missing. i must say, keeping in mind how much he actually did, he was probably the most active and busy of us all.
i spoke to him in depth about his illness a few times as he was trying to help me get to grips with being ill *and not cureable* (dont worry not life threatening ur stuck with me for now) but the least we can do is learn how to hp and keep this boat afloat, i can see it sinking with out him :'(

-
Awww man, that's terrible news. R.I.P. Tiq, you will be greatly missed. May you forever be in the happy trekking grounds.
-
sorry this is overdue, but I have been disconnected from here for quite a while.
once I read that he was in Hospital, I knew. one of my uncles went in similar circumstances, and I already knew of his status.
rest in peace.
-
An incredible loss to this community, Tiq will be sadly missed by all . RIP fella :angel
-
Had a pm from Tiq's brother-in-law.
Barry, Could you please let everyone involved in Bridge Commander that Brent (TiqHud) would know about his death. I have no way to post anything there. Thank you for being a part of his life, Due to his physical limitations BC and all the Star Trek groups gave him something to keep his mind sharp. He was an awesome man, freind, and Brother-in law to me, but i would say his love for Christ came first and that is what built him to the man of character that he was.
-
He was a great member here and will be remembered well past when this community dies out. Rest in peace Tiq.
-
He has taken the journey to the undiscovered county. "The word is given, warp speed"
R.I.P Tiq
-
Damn, i haven't been around BCC for a while, and this morning deadthunder2_0 wrote to me on facebook about TiqHud. I was hoping the NST class would be a get well present, I really hate that it is a memoriam. Does anyone know where he came up with the handle Tiqhud?
-

he has been such a valued member to the BC community for almost a decade now, always very helpful and kind...
such a great loss... so very sad news :(
-
Tiq had always done his best to help me with my mods as well...offering to HP them. Very sad to hear this! I'm going to have to have a drink in his honor and celebrate his life! May he rest in peace!
-
 ...I miss a bit around here and I read this. I am so sad to read about this. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Rest in Peace Tiqhud. And my condolences to his family.
-
I just heard about this today from reading Leo's comment on my new video. This is very sad news and I am just a little disturbed by it at the moment. I will plan a memorial video for him soon. I will remember Tiq forever, that is assured.
-
A sad day for so many of us. Tiqhud will be remembered by many of us through his work and dedication to the community.

Gosh, I'm really very sorry to hear about Tiq, my condolences to his family. Rest in Peace.
-
I just saw this and am deeply saddened. Tiq was awesome. He will be sorely missed.
Rest in peace brother.
-
Oh my. My condolences to Brent's family and friends. He seemed like a pretty cool guy. This community will just not be the same without its greatest contributor.
R.I.P. Tighud
-
I just saw this today, but I'm totally shocked by this. Tiqhud one of the biggest Trek fans I've ever met in the community, as well as a great dedicated staffer on BCFiles.
Rest in Peace....
-
too bad I hadn't seen this thread sooner so I could have sent him a message. really sucks..was fun working with him on BCF and on mods.
-
R.I.P Tiq.
If anyone does create a ship in his name I'd be more than happy to dust of my copy of BC and HP it.
Should help Tiq to get wherever he's going.
-
He was one of the persons working on improving KM and one of the major helpers in this community. We will miss him.

Not sure if anyone has said this but I think the modder of the month for March should go to Tiq.
I know he never built any models but he worked long and hard getting many many models in game
-
That is a relly good point. I support that all day Long.
-
Thirded!
A great bunch of ships wouldn't have found their way into BC (the way they did) if it weren't for him
-
Such a shame, we will all remember him. RIP Tiqhud, your memory will be forever engraved in our hearts and thoughts.
-

I agree with that, definately. The least we can do to honour him.
-
I agree with that, definately. The least we can do to honour him.
Ill second that
-
I never really knew Tiq, but I know of the work he did to help out many modders with our HP's, there is no soul here who could fill his place here in the community.
I am saddened to read the news of his passing... :(
May his soul rest easy wherever he is now.
-

This.
-
....This is by far the saddest moment in my life.
Tiqhud personally assisted me in hardpoint editting during the windows live messenger years...
Rest in peace old friend..
-
Dam. I never new Tiqhud personally but its sad when any community loses a valued member. For what its worth RIP.
-
I've been a member of this community since the KA.com days - I became less active about seven years ago, but I still check in regularly.
Tiqhud was a name that was always on my screen, being polite, cracking wise, or offering to help. When you lose touch with the community, the names on the screen become two-dimensional, the forum seems like a playground, or a story book.
And then reality hits.
You're all people - that's too easy to ignore.
I lost my Dad to cancer in '10, shortly after my Mum was diagnosed with it too. She survived, but with permanent side-effects, and I'm the youngest of my siblings - the one without a family or a career of his own... goodbye life!
So yeah, I know how you feel, Baz, and my heart goes out to Tiq's family - blood family and you guys, his electron family.
Frak cancer! :banghead:
Reading through this thread, I was doing fine until this post:
R.I.P Tiq.
If anyone does create a ship in his name I'd be more than happy to dust of my copy of BC and HP it.
Should help Tiq to get wherever he's going.
That's such a beautiful sentiment, it brings a tear to my eye.
Do we know what specific cancer got him? Can we set up a community donation drive to a research fund or something?
-
Oh hells bells, now I'm all weepy. I feel very much love for Brent's family and friends and I'm saddened beyond belief that we lost such a great contributor to this community. I feel it appropriate to share this clip at this point. May we all find our final frontiers as wealthy with friends as Brent did.
-
I know Brent would believe: keep doing what we're doing. And follow our dreams and aspirations. That's the best tribute.
-
Just passing through to pay my respects on this solemn day. RIP Tiq.. Never got a chance to know you very well, but I thank you for all your hard work on the hardpoints. You have contributed to so much fun and happiness that it is only right for me to contribute what I can as well, because you enjoyed watching people enjoy themselves.
Just so everyone knows, this week I will be releasing KM 15 Base (beta) for public testing, in remembrance of Tiqhud. Yes I even added the Tiqhud Type 7 tribute shuttle. Be on the lookout for links.
