If the nacelles and deflector were different, I'd be more inclined. But thats not exactly a pretty ship.

The article that contains the Aventine's unveiling, including a video of a 3d test video the artist did.
Not bad looking for Starfleet's first slipstream ship, heckuva lot better looking than the Dauntless.

i love the nacelles and pylons.
although i do agree with the comments that resent a move away from newer starships not having a nice neck between saucer and the stardrive

Neck equals weak point. :P
-
it was a key starfleet design ethic
i miss it
-
it looks like a federation ship, but lacks very much in the way of classy aesthetic.

I love it, even if everyone else doesn't. I wouldn't say it's better looking than the Dauntless, but I love it.

Aventine: Some minor specs (http://mark-rademaker.blogspot.com/2009/06/aventine-some-minor-specs.html)
Length: 672 meters
Width: 182 meters
Height: 87 meters

I'd need to see some more views, but whatever it is it looks like it could be the sov we'd get if derived from the new tos enterprise timeline. If that is the theory for this design then, I wonder what the excel, ambassador and galaxy would have turned out?

Found that too. WW2 subs anyone? dive planes and conning tower.

Wasn't the Aventine the Ship Captained by Ezri Dax in the Destiny Trilogy?

I need to learn to read.

Drexler features the creator of this ship on his blog. I still think it's a poor design.

have to agree,
the orthographic really shows it off, don't like it at all.

argablaghbraaaa
idk. part of me likes it part hates it.
guess it has to just grow on ya.
-
the guy's obviously got skills. but the ship is fugly.
-
This kinda reminds me of the reactions to when the "official" design of the Titan was picked. :P
-
I like it.. I want it in BC lol.
-
It's like if JJ did an episode in the TNG era and thats his Sovereign class.
If the Aventine is meant to be shark-like in design, why not borrow Bruce the shark from Jaws?
-
meh.
i wouldnt mind it if it were in BC, it would just be something else to blow up
