So my beloved game refuses to launch after what appears to be a good install. I haven't played it in years but decided it was time. Fresh install of BC to C/Games from original disc, 1.1 patch, run as admin & tried win compatibility, bumped desktop res down to 1920x1080. This is what I get..

A really generic error. Does this happen with other games as well?
-
Only BC. Another thing I noticed is the Fault Module Name seems to change from shell32.dll to ntdll.dll to stbc.exe every few times I try to launch BC. I'm gunna try install on another machine to see what happens.

Did you try newer games or older games?
-
I have a bunch of games running & no issues. Most all of them modded. Maybe the plethora of modding tools is causing issues, no idea. Mass Effect (vanilla), Dragon Age, Skyrim (modded), Fallout4 (modded), Far Cry 4 (modded), GTA:V (modded), Oblivion (heavily modded), BF Bad Co 2 (vanilla), Spore and so on..
Verified my disc is good. Installed on an older machine running Vista of all things and no problems.

Only thing I can think of is a reinstall. Try another directory as well. I keep mine in C:\Users\Public\Games. I set the .exe to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3. No issues. If you have a second hard drive you can try popping it there too.

Thanks for the advice. I have tried re installation a few times to diff directories/HDD with no effect. I'm getting a larger SSD for my boot drive soon & doing a fresh windows install so maybe that'll do it.... :s

Are you installing from a Bridge Commander CD or a download from somewhere?

Yup, from original disc. Mentioned in 1st post..
