I will be trying something out, it may turn out good,might not ...im getting Zbrush3 on may 15th,and will try to make low poly but high qua versions of the TOS crew,and others depending on how the first ones come out, any high qua screens would be appreciated before may 15th.
Also for the people that like Wing Commander ill be doing the same to that crew if I can get the proper screen shots,for my mod thats still taking a while to do..

that sounds awesome!
but with ST Excalibur, i think the entire BC crew is being redone - altho that might be a far bit off until that new crew is released...

^^Um this part was a request guys:-)
that means from any Star trek show or movie, perferrably TOS and TNG, since I have Voyager and DS9, screens of each person on the bridge crew full body(uniform),front view or front,back,left,right.
its not something you have to do,but I dont have TOS or TNG, I suppose I could get the TOS crew from the tribble DS9 episode..
no offense but alot of people viewing and no responses I see on alot of posts..

Well, i think the lack of posts can be easily explained.
At old BCU we had a nice emoticon that say "This thread is worthless without pics"
And that basically means:
It?s interesting for you to tell the people that you wan to do that, but basically you won?t have any response until you show something... That?s not a rule or a behaviour, it?s just hard to get people?s attention when you don't actually have anything to show.

Well in the top of the thread I said ill be getting Zbrush3 on MAY 15th, that means its not out yet
:-) ,in case people dont know what Zbrush is, then I got a special link for ya that might make your jaw drop...make sure you have sound on and are ready for a long vid.:-)
The program can make up to 1billion poly models or very low poly,but you will see why im going to use it.I will probably be doing alot of my Wing Commander models with it aswell for Nano's Graphics Engine..when its ready. Need flash player 9 to view the vid.

I used the old zbrush, it?s actually a Photo modeller helper, v3 seems to be a great improve, but it does not change the fact you will have to model the faces 8)

Well I could do it with Zbrush2,but im waiting for the new tools,they rock if ya watched the vid, dont really have to model the faces at all,can use pictures..if im watching that correctly..we will find out.
And Legacy if you have version 2, version 3 is FREE:-), in case you didnt know

Well now the program is out and I have found the tutorial on how to make new faces using pictures in ZB3,when I get it right ill try to make some new Bridge crew.

I still havent learned enough Zbrush to make a decent character...yet..so bear with me please

Mark has motivated me to get this done since its been sitting idle for a while without much to show....so far I have a new untextured female render...its just a modified body with head from the game..
Eventually I will take it to Zbrush3 and do the texturing(It should look like a real person when done,skin tone,eyes,hair etc...I hope anyway) and abit of poly adjusting etc..
The Male one was done the same way...if my method does not work ill make a whole new model instead including face..

ok a few suggestions:
- The hands need some work, they dont look much better then the current ones
- the bottom of the trousers taper off and look more like tracksuit bottoms then smart trousers
- get rid of the camel toe, its almost pornographic :funny
- Add some more detail to the collar if you can.
Otherwise its pretty good :)

A question though, what do I need to do to get it working in game for a test?....I was thinking I could copy the bi-ped part into the new model.
But I need to understand how the animation works in BC first....so mybe you can explain that part...
The other problem I had was that Milkshape would not export the model without textures or materials(forgot what one it said) ...so I could not test it in game...I just wanted to test the untextured model..

Im remaking my own male and female bodies(couldnt make the ones from Bridge Commander do what I wanted), and got different views of TOS/TMP bridge crew(including scotty) for a referance to get them as accurate as possible...if anyone has some pictures of the uniforms in that era so I can do them more accuratly it would be appreciated...as in head to toe..back and front at least...they dont even need to have a body in them..lol
its a request for pictures of just the uniforms shoes and all, my previous request wasnt answered so mybe this time ill get some results...unless none of you want new,better looking,much needed, low poly bridge crew,with hair and all...I need cooperation on your part aswell..

Well if your making a TOS/TMP crew and uniforms give me a bell via pm whilst im planning on redoing all the trek uniforms and crew and we can see if we can work something out.

as far as I am aware, you cant export BC skeletons from milkshape, but im not sure on that. I guess LJ would be the man to ask there.

Ok I know these dont look perfect so far..I will adjust them more later...im just trying to get the basic body shape down,curves and such, renders of the female model...bottom part only so far.

seems pretty blocky to me, BES.
try to work from an 8-sided cylinder rather than a box and you should be fine.

Ahem... this could be my sick imagination at work, but....
shouldn't the busts be.... bigger??? I mean, they always seemed kind of... flat... not that I was LOOKING, of course.

Its why I havent showed anymore pics of her...still doing the busty part:-)
I got some high rez nude pics for a reference...
The other problem is that I have kids and cant model her with them around due to the nudity.
When she is done though she will be clothed when I render her due to the young ones that roam the forum...might give Mark a heart attack..lol

Looks like you have some smoothing issues, especially around the bust.

Yes the arms look way too thing now, however the rest looks alot better than what we have currently. Nice work so far. Please dont give Mark a heart attack, it would be counter productive :D

Yeah I know...I will try scaling the arms a little, and changing the shoulder configuration, and few other things...also im going to try to add realistic hair...
Sorry, I havent done anything new on her since my last post..been occupied with some visiting family.
I still need people to help me....I need high quality of at least the faces of the TMP crew, the ones I got from the movie(ST6) arent going to work..the lighting and quality are wrong(if I take it in Zbrush to paint using this as a template ...he would look really bad), example pic attached...enlarge the pic to see what I mean...it looks fine at that tiny size..

Thats because she doesnt:-) , I made a new model, ran it through the model cleaner in milkshape,the directX mesh thing in milkshape and used turbosmooth on it in Max8..then fixed all the unwelded verts I could find, ill be working some more on it to try to fix the rest of it...
The private areas dont NEED to be TOO accurate,im trying to keep it low poly so it wont kill BC...

Sorry for the delay on this...im currently taking some more modeling courses....face/character/animation(3ds Max). Also advanced texturing/lighting/physics courses etc(3ds Max)..also some courses on Truespace7.51,MOI etc
for my upcoming game..
I will continue though soon as the character related courses are done
