The Vorcha is all done and will be released later on today.
So work has started on the final Klingon ship (original was done by kevin riley)
It has a few mesh errors i have to fix and needs brand new textures.
But here she is..
-
uff, that looks awesome!
Quaplah!
-
Very nice looking K'Tinga
-
indeed best so far !
-
Ouch very nice find lint. will make a fine addition to the klingon fleet, which you practically done :P
oh btw did u get my pm from the other day?

Wow!, now that's impressive. :D
-
One of my favourite ships. :D Looks fantastic.
-
:D This is a beautiful model! Will you possibly be releasing this as a pack with TMP, Post-TMP and TNG variants? or have you not planned that far, yet? :P Yeash, with all these beautiful models, my first modeling project is starting to look like a heap of flying jellow! Lmao, but anyways, this is a beautiful model.
Oh, one more question. Since the poly count is bound to be rather high, will visible damage be disabled with this model, too, as it was with the Neighvar and presumably Vor'cha?
-Aeries.
-
are you a robot? damn you work fast
o kudos on the ktinga
-
I assume that this mesh comes from the same person that made the Vorcha and Negvar?
-
nah, the original was done by kevin riley,
He has no permissions in the readme for it, just aslong as you dont earn money of it he does'nt care what is done with it.
I have fixed the mesh errors and started some basic texturing, i added an omni light so you can see the detail and the specs a little better.
There is a good chance the damage error will be fixed for this release.
im about to go try some ideas i have had about it
-
thats looks blddoy awesome, nice to see a new ktinga model, wahoo lol
-
Pretty good lookin!
I hope its scaled, I consider it 214 M, and the D7 at 228 M..
-
Wow! This is stunning work. This has as much detail as the original model from ST: TMP. I can't wait for this one to come out. I just hope this uber detail doesn't crash my PC.
Slightly off topic, but I am almost positive that the size of the K'tinga/D-7 is quite a bit larger than either 214 M or 228 M. I know that http://www.merzo.net/ (http://www.merzo.net/) lists the ships at this size, but that doesn't quite mesh with on-screen evidence. Assuming the forward section with its two rows of windows just below the two uppermost structures represents two decks, the 220 M figure just doesn't make sense. Here is a way to prove that: First, print the pictures found on the following two links. (thinner paper is best)
http://www.shipschematics.net/startrek/images/federation/heavycruiser_enterprise.jpg (http://www.shipschematics.net/startrek/images/federation/heavycruiser_enterprise.jpg)
http://www.shipschematics.net/startrek/images/klingon/battlecruiser_ktinga.jpg (http://www.shipschematics.net/startrek/images/klingon/battlecruiser_ktinga.jpg)
Then put both papers together and hold them in front of a bright light so that the images appear to overlap. To prove that the size ratio of these two images is correct, put the front or edge of the Enterprise saucer to overlap the section of the D-7 with the two lines of windows. Do this on the upper lateral image as well as the bow and stern images below. The edges of both sections on the respective ships appear to be the same height, and if both of these sections are two decks thick, as seems likely, then this is the true size comparison between the TMP Constitution and D-7. Since the length of the TMP Constitution is well-established canon, we can estimate that the actual length of the D-7 is somewhere around 290 - 295 M. This is a battlecruiser, after all!
-
You are assuming that Klingon decks are the same height as Federation decks. Big assumption.
This is an application of pretty broken logic. Screencap comparisons (first one to mind is the side by side shot in The Undiscovered Country, just before they have dinner) would be a better source, but I'm happy with the official figures... unlike the Bird Of Prey, the depiction of this ship has been pretty consistent, size-wise, at least to my mind...
-
True. The decks may not be the same size. I considered that. But really, would they be so much smaller that it would skew the comparison to any large degree? Klingons are around the same size as humans. I haven't seen Undiscovered Country in quite awhile. Are the ships close enough to compare? Anyway, I've been meaning to do more research on the D-7 since I installed a high res model into BC. Maybe I'll find something to clear this up.
-
Simply use ex-astris scientia charts as reference as we all do.
Bernd Schneider did all possible considerations when doing then.
According to it the k`tinga should be 217m and the D7, 228m.
-
D*mnit, lint! Now I have to change my pants...
Fabulous. Wish I could help with the size issue, but at the moment, I just can't be *rsed.
-
Lmao!
Nice work, as always.
-Aeries.
-
thats one sexy D7 -cant wait this is the ship thats been missing in the hi res fleet!
-
i actually decided to rebuild the bridge section on this one, so you will have to wait a little while longer,
But the BoP is off getting some last minute textures done, so you can expect her soon..
-
Very nice lint, however I did ask that you credit the original modeller on the opening posts of these threads, afterall theres alot of skilled work in there - its only fair.
-
sorry man, i think SF deleted those posts,.
But ill take care of it.
EDIT: ok, it appears you beat me to it mark,

Nope. I only cleaned out the arguement, and everything was archived, not deleted.

WOW
honorable for the klingon in anyone :P
-
amazing work lint, your the king of klingons :)
-
That's one detailed K'tinga. You seem to have a good Klingon thing going here, given any thought to Romulan vessels? I mean, the LC Warbird and Redragon's Norexan have the Warbird area pretty well covered, but I don't think BC has a detailed Bird of Prey or the Scout vessel, or even the shuttle from DS9.
-
its funny you guys decided to post on this old thread just now, Because im currently packing up the K'tinga to send off to bcfiles, i have put alot of work into her the last couple days and finally got it hardpointed today, Thanks to sandtrooper,
So expect this baby to be up for download in the next couple days or so!
-
Oh.
Well.
YAY! :P
-
I think the K'tinga should have a few more arcs, and I think it should have increased mobility over its KM 1.0 version, not too happy with that one, but it was my favorite ship in the EOL series. Also I have a friend who has a website with the closest to canon deckplans that I have seen so far. http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcars/blueprints-main2.php if you scroll down he has two different sets for the D7, which is cool because there are a number of different versions of the D7, the K'tinga being the D7M.
-
I wanted to base this ktinga off from what we say in DS9 "Way of the Warrior",
it has pretty good arcs,
it has 6 pulse disruptor banks, 1 forward disruptor (like it fired in that episode)
Forward torps and rear torps.
Oh and on a side note, i managed to cure the damage bug, so this ship DOES have visible damage :)

Does that also possibly mean that you will be fixing the visible damage bug on your other klingon ship mods?
Great work BTW!
-
yeah i will eventually, when i get these other projects done, :)
-

-
