I translated some things in the interstellar library into german with tgl editor and saved it.
Now, i recognized, that i forgot something and i can't edit it any more.
Is it impossible to edit tgl files which were edited before?
I don't want to do everything again :(
-
Technicly speaking, you are able to, since they were editted before you editted them anyway (they had to be created at first anyway).
-
OK, do you have an idea, how i can open them now?
-
Unless they have been broken (ie. useless) then you still ought to be able to open them if you were able to open them before.
Considering you haven't been able to open them, I'd say they are broken, meaning that the editor you were using isn't a proper editor anyway.
Do they still work in BC?
If so, then the editor is still broken.
-
hmm, i used the tgl editor from bc files and the files work properly with my changes ingame.
But whenever i want to load the files again, this error message appears:
Is there another editor available?
-
Reinstall it to a different directory and try again.
-
I've already tried that without success.
But it works with small size files. Perhaps it has a filesizelimit.
-
Could you upload the tgl you are trying to open?
-
This is the ship description file. I changed a few descriptions to german ones and saved the file.
-
It's broken, my BC can't even open it.
-
if youre just trying to edit the Ship's Description (the area of text in the small box when choosing a shipin QB), you can do that directly in the ship's plugin...
you dont need the TGL editor for that...
-
ok, thx. Then i will try that

this thread explains more about it:
