Some of you may know about this and some may not.
USS Seahawk Patrick Henry Class Starfleet Marine Corps Aircraft Carrier
But I thought I would post a wip to some opinions on it.
I need opinions on the carrier pod stand more then the rest atm.
Credit for the ship mesh goes to DJ Curtis and the credit for the carrier pod mesh goes to Nebula.
oh and if someone could maybe map and texture it I would be very thankful.

Gee, I wonder if someone's a fan of JAG.

You can tell  *points to avatar*
and I know it's not Jag.
Small update as well.

Ehh...the pod's struts just don't mesh with the rest of the ship...just my 2 cents.

You should have seen the last ones  but I'm still working on them.

it's also off center.

Heh... heh... so was half the Mithra.
Odd ship, but interesting idea to have an entire pod for fighter launch. I guess it could be really useful for other things like station evacuations or as a massive cargo storeage facility.

How is it now?

Does make sense tho.

Interesting ship, apt for an NCIS fan ;)
-
hmm I think the pylons connecting it to the nacelle pylons need to be thiner

Making a new one as I type.
-
*update*
New pylons done well at lest the front ones.
Opinions please.
-
Hmm... interesting. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I personally like the cylindrical design, though. What I would suggest is make it a single, aerodynamic pylon in the shape of a skinnier, longer shark's fin. Think of it in the sense that in other circumstances, a Pylon like what I suggest could also be used as a Nacelle mount position for an "x"-series ship. Additionally, I think it would just flow better with this ship. What you've made now, at least to me, flows better with the NX-Era. :)
Sincerely,
~Aeries.

I'll see what I can do.
The thing I'm trying to keep in my head is turbolifts.
-
This ship isn't exactly small. The Turbolifts, I'd imagine, wouldn't have much difficulty fitting in a SLIGHTLY thicker Nacelle pylon. ;)
~Aeries.
Edit: For reference, I'd suggest using the windows as a scaling comparison. I usually assume they're about 2-meters high, if they're in the sovvy-style. ;)
Good luck, dude. :D

And thanks.

Not a problem. :)
I'm still new myself, but don't be afraid to holler if you need help. :D Cookie to keep you going.

I am still working on the pylon like making them thicker and rounding but I thought I would post some pics tho.
-
hmm...USS Seahawk....aircraft carrier....someone's a JAG fan also noticing the NCIS avatar
is she capable of launching Commander Rabb's F14?
-
I would go with a large single pylon, similar to the nebula weapons pod pylon, or the Galaxy X Nacelle pylon because, those ones you've got are still a bit narrow.

How about Kara Thrace's Viper

got a update after talking with cordanilus and him making a concept pylon and sending it to me and with me also reworking the concept pylon I got this.
edit newer pics added.
-
There you go! NOW you've got it! Very nice. :D
-
Yes sir. :D She's looking mighty fine now.
-
much better
-
Agreed
-
Very nice GMAN. Exceptional. May I suggest also adding a couple other support pylons on either side of the pod, perhaps connecting to the main warp pylons at the base as well, just so that it looks as though the load, with the majority handled by the main pylon, is also supported by secondary pylons on either side.
If that makes any sense. But DAMN, she's a fine ship!!!

I tried to add secondary pylons but it didn't look right so no secondary pylons.
On to the update added some phaser banks one the pod and some new aft torp tubes to replace the ones that were behind the stand.
If you got C&C please post it.
-
Thank God you dropped the secondary pylons.
Anyways, yeah, its a nice addition to an already existing ship. I couldn't have done it better myself.
Heck, I couldn't have DONE it myself.
-
Nice work, GMan.
-
Yes OMG it lives, ok joke aside due to my realization that there was no way I could texture what i had before and make it look right.
So I have changed my plan to a bay that opens up to smaller bays in the secondary hull.
-
Not bad, I look forward to seeing how you'll integrate them.
-
I thought I would do a test fit to see how my bays fit and to give a preview of how they will fit.
-
Oh, that's cool!
-
I had some time today and made about and years worth of updates
First the Class name I'v come up with two new names
#1 Hathcock Class for Carlos Hathcock ? renowned Marine sniper with 93 confirmed kills during the Vietnam War (I'm liking this one right now)
#2 Boyington Class for "Pappy" Boyington? Medal of Honor recipient who commanded the famous "Black Sheep Squadron" (VMA-214) during WWII
And now the ship updates
First I'v put the bays in and stitched them in

2nd it was ponied out to me that the main impulse drive would fry the fighters so I'v added some on the sides and I'll model a door thats covers the main drive when the bays in open

How's the poly count as it is? And seeing that you look for names, how about naming it after Larry Thorne?

He just couldn't stop fighting.. :D

Still need to get the poly count and hes Army both the men I picked where Marines.
But I took it it out made it a little smaller and put it back in and it looks much better.
-
intresting design, reminds me of a Republic cruiser.
The only question is do you really want ship flying that close to the center impulse engine wake?
Other than that it has a lot of promise.
-
yup this hangar bay looks almost exactly same like the one on Venator, great idea, would be even better if you get rid of the neck and put saucer on the same level as secondary hull ;) something like TMP Midway carrier
-
Yes the Venator gave me the new idea for the bay damn iTunes with there copies of Clone Wars.
And impulse engine wake? which one there would be three and the the middle one would be shut off and closed off when the bay is open and the other two are aimed away from the bay.
And Bones got give me an idea :funny
