Title: AI Wont attack.

Subject line: I went in game and now the AI wont attack me or anything and just sits there idle.

Does the ship you are fighting against have a Torpedo launcher?

So, what mods are you using?

Or more specificly, give me an example battle. Which ships vs. which ships.

Courageous Class vs Galor Class that came stock with KM. Or Detailed Soveriegn vs Breen Frigate, and all the AI ships do is just sit there idle.

A ton of them, actually the last install I made before anything like this happened was that Enterprise G Study Mod.

Hmmm, I wonder if this would help.  In reading the console report, I see that Warning: Group override is active! is listed.  I believe the actual name it in BC is Target Group Override or something similar.  I had to disable this function when I had the problem of enemy ships not attacking after I installed a mod (the name of I forget).

According to the comments on the mod this mod does not appear to be compatible with either KM or QBAutostart (and QBAutostart is included with KM).

Try disabling QBAutostart to see if it helps.

Also, Mr John (the author) has released an update:

Okay, I have QB Autostart .90 and I disabled that and nothing yet, I am gonna install the update to it and is there a newer version to QBAutostart out?

it looks like you dont have the weapons required for this mod to work...  (hence the "no module named ... ")
were there any requirements in the readme of that mod?

The ship works wonderful, photon torpedos, phasers all load and fire, it's just the AI Ships in QB wont attack and they'll sit there with their shields down.

do you have a TargetGroup Override (or something to that effect) in your mutators list, or a script for it in your Autostart folder?

also, there is a QBAutostart 0.9.1 at BCFiles, which is an update to the 0.9 you say you have installed..

Okay, 1. How do I find out which torpedos are missing? Cause all the hardpoints on the ships say Torpedos are installed.

2. I intalled 0.9.1 and going to see about the TargetGroup Override in my folders.

BC would crash if they are missing.

The thing is, if a ship does not have a torpedo system (never mind launchers) then the AI may not work (correctly).

MLeo, I see. Though, all these ships worked before. I never had a problem with them, these are the same ones i've been fighting for the past 4 weeks. Though suddenly it's like the ship AI just quit caring for some reason and they just sit idle in space. I removed the TargetGroup override from the folder and put it on my desktop and nothing happened yet, they still just sat there doing nothing.

Another thing is, now whenever I destroy a ship it says "Simulated Ship Destroyed" I know there was a fix for this and now I can't find it, any direction of it? Thanks

Yep, I installed everything, all the updates, patches and everything and nothing works. I might have to delete the ship and reinstall KM so I dont lose everything hopefully. Also do you know of getting rid of her saying that the simulated ships been destroyed? Cause it's annoying. Lol

I would say that the NX Enteprise-G (notice the lack of r) has messed up your BC.



I've just downloaded it (argh, an installer :x), and it include an AI "fix" (I put it in parantheses because it would appear this is messing things up for you).

Go to scripts/ and rename the AI directory to AIBroken
Then copy the scripts/AI directory from the SDK and put it in scripts/
And lastly, put the scripts/AI directory from the KM zip and put it in your scripts/

I think this can be changed by editing the TGL files, i'm not sure which one in particular though.

Try copying the QuickBattle.py from the KM1.0 zip to scripts/QuickBattle/ and let it overwrite the one there?
