Title: White square around ship
Post by: dep88y on February 20, 2009, 08:48:12 AM
I'm using BC Supermod 3.0 and I downloaded a new ship. In Quick Battle a white square appears as if it divides the ship in half top to bottom. This is the the ship: http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/USS_Arrowhead;97484.

i thought BC Supermod already came with NanoFX?  im not sure offhand, tho...
also, from what ive understood (i dont have Supermod installed), wouldnt adding mods and such on top of that install cause problems?  ive always understood that to be a stand-alone dont-add-anything type of install...

BCSuperMod didn't come with SP, since it broke savegames.

Also, NanoFX is, at this point in time, incompatible with NanoFX! Installing NanoFX will break your current install.

Btw, this question is in the FAQ sticky.

I appreciate everyones help. Thankyou. As for this question, it is not covered in another thread. I knew NanoFx was not compatible and that NanoFx was the solution for the squares with out SuperMod. I was asking if there was a solution while using Supermod since NanoFx was not usable in this case. I guess I wasn't clear, I apologize for that as I don't communicate my thoughts well. Thanks.

At the moment of writing, the only cause of having white squares around a ship is not having NanoFXv2Beta installed, you can't get them any other way.

Having BCSuperMod installed isn't going to change the fact that the only way to get rid of the white squares is to install NanoFX.

Here is something you can try, install only the scripts/Custom/ parts of NanoFXv2Beta and say no to anything that it might want to overwrite.
But make a backup first.

I would like to try your suggestion but the computer crashed and I can't get it working. I'll have to try another time. Thanks again.

There is no rush from my part. ;)

I have to re-read most threads for each new post anyway.

I helped betatest it,
Supermod is not designed to be modded, AT ALL, it's not that nanofx is not compatible with the supermod, it's that the supermod is not designed to work with anything, if you really must use other ships with supermod, first of all, it will break the Single player campaign which was the entire point of supermod. and secondly, if you really need to, you can remove the nav lights frrom the hardpoints manually.

Is NanoFX enabled? And did you install NanoFXv2Beta?

what if that dont solve the problem
if you make backups of your install before installing anything as you go, then youre sure to be safe...
(just an FYI)
