Hi, dunno if anyone can help, but i try to join a game and at first it said i had an older version. so i downloaded the 1.1 patch and installed it. now it goes to connect but disconnects saying and i qoute ' file version mismatch.scripts/autoexec.pyc ' please please can anyone find a way to help me?? what can i do to fix this?
-
okay, are you playing the stock game??
Be sure you aren't joining a KM 1.0 server...
It should be clearly identified.
-
yes its the stock game,
and yeh it shows the km 1.0 i never thought anything of it. what does that mean?
-
KM, or Kobayashi Maru, is a Multiplayer mod that combines quite a lot of ships and other scripts and ensures that the entire set will work correctly in multiplayer.
Basically, everyone in a multiplayer game needs to have the same files, of everything (except textures and sounds!).
-
okay thanks,
is it possible to get these files at all?
-
Of course, just goto bckobayashimaru.de
-
Thanks so much :D
also, ive downloaded the stargate ship package, how do i use it with stbc do you know?
-
it should install just like KM, but keep in mind, if you install that too, you cannot join KM matches, because the files aren't the same anymore.
-
okay so there seems to be no end to my problems :x
iv got it installed, but it either freezes, goes straight to game over or loads me on but then doesnt show the other players :?
any ideas?
also is there any way of removing the km1.0 or turning it off?
-
ok please tell me how you extracted KM 1.0 and how u installed it.
-
i went onto the website you gave me, downloaded a file called the ' km.1.0 installer exe' and then it installed itself. enough detail?
-
was your BC patched to 1.1 before you installed KM 1.0??
-
yes
-
are you behind a router??
-
yeh
-
you need to open ports in the router for BC....
-
Which can be found in the manual (look for the pdf in the extra directory).

Which can be found in the manual (look for the pdf in the extra directory).

ive been watching this thread because im setting up my own seperate install for MP..

-
that's because it isn't in the PDF.. it's in the readme.rtf file...
the ports you want are 22101 and 28900 for both incoming and outgoing traffic.
-
